Alright AP! I haven’t posted too much on here about how I truly feel, nor How I truly am as a chiefs fan. Let me take you back to a dreadful memory, this memory is the first time I realized as a person, a young adult , waay before the internet, waay before era of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.. This is the time in which I became a true hard corps fan… Novphot5_1__medium

.. I grew up Catholic. A young boy in the midst of a small yet largest city in Kansas that small city/town: Wichita Kansas. On Saturdays we sat and watched the Fighting Irish play on CBS every weekend. And when I was a young boy I loved Joe Montana. In 1993 "The comeback kid" was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, I was 10 years old. In 1994 I watched late night as the chiefs overcame the Steelers in OT, then the oilers and then March on to AFC Championship game.. we all know where this is going.. let’s just say I cried over Chili or as well called it " Crunch munchie chili" Chili, Fritos, cheese and sour cream. My Cosuin- then a Cowboy fan now converted Chiefs fan – called me seconds after the game was over… horrible feeling.. Kzvr_medium

PAUSE: Take a second and think about that night.. that season.. how old were YOU, where were YOU? My Dad had lost interest (and come to find out many years later when him and I went to our first game at Arrowhead last yr vs the Jaguars) That when I had inquired about him being a Chiefs fan he told me: " Son I love the Chiefs, I’m from Kansas that’s who we love and follow.. But I never really followed them after 1994 I always felt like I was a jinx.. I watched the highlights after wards…" I kept faith as ANY little boy and his favorite team.. Cheering for D.T. and Neil Smith.. Laughing at the AT&T commercials they did.. Enjoying every sack.. And then ONE day this man came into the picture with a breathtaking kickoff return…. Tamarick Vanorver… I remember when he was returning the kickoff, I was screaming.. "Go Go GO !! .. DAD come on!!"My dad eagerly came from the kitchen and (laughably now) pushed me out the way of the t.v. " saying " Move boy" and then started screaming run.. go go go GO!! Touch down!!! And then you heard it "TOUCH DOWN KAN SUS CITY!!!! Warpaint_medium

PAUSE: Do you remember that? That feeling.. That tingle excitement? That awe-inspiring feeling that we had something electric.. Kcwolf_medium

December 2000: I was a senior in H.S. in Vilseck Germany. My newspaper was the Stars and Stripes. And front page my heart crashed, my stomach fell ill and my childhood died. Front Page was D.T. with a casket in Arrowhead and the picture was the chief’s fans paying last respects… Derrick-thomas_medium

PAUSE: Those whom may be young may not know of him but of Youtube and highlight reels, those older than I know all about him. All fans fair-weather, Bandwagon, Diehard and uber Faithful and those most respected: those that have followed in its conception in the late 60’s.. WE all felt that the soul of our team had died.. Fast Forward; 2003…. I was in Korea.. and all of the sudden it was Chris Berman and his antics.." The Kansas city Chiefs.. Undefeated?!? (in his condescending voice he often does with teams from small markets) 9-0 straight.. I got to see the Chiefs Raiders game.. it was around 9 am Monday when the game was on live Sunday.. Imagine seeing a bunch of South Korean Soldiers looking, staring and scarred of this fanatical Chiefs fan in Army BDU’s.. It was a Kramer moment for them I am sure… Dexter_medium

MNF: 2010. Arrohead. Kansas City Chiefs. Sand Diego Chargers. Game 1. Rain. Intensity. Respect. Electricity. Philip Rivers Crying. Dexter Mc Cluster. 4th Down Turnover in the red zone. The Old Rocking sound of Arrowhead. Forget the "12th man" in Seattle.. Or "Americas Team" in Dallas.. or Even the" Dream Team" in Philadelphia.. Kansas-city-chiefs_medium

This is Kansas City. We are the Kansas City Chiefs. We are the redneck, country, blue collar, down to earth Midwestern values of old. We have been deprived of recognition of what this team has done and been capable of doing for a long time. This year, the year of " the Luck" or the year of the "ACL" or whatever campaign you call it.. This year is the years we endure between the aforementioned highlights mentioned above. AND I will admit I didn’t list all of the wonderful things, games, highlights I remember as a chiefs fan. I listed some important ones to me. This is me, your fellow Chiefs fan extending a hand to the AP faithful out there; regardless of your suck for luck or not.. This is Kansas City, this is Arrowhead.. WHO among you are going to get up this Sunday Morning drive to Sports Truman and join me to cheer on our boys? 106826815_display_image_medium
