In his last 5 starts, Cassel has thrown for 115 yds (Oak), 70 yds (Bal - playoffs), 119 yds (Buf), 133 yds (Det), and 176 yds (SD). That's an average of 122.6 yards in 5 consecutive games and all sub-180 yard games. I have been a "wait and see" kind of a guy on Cassel, but I think it has become clear that he is at best a game manager, and at worst a liability. You don't consistently make it to or win playoff games with a QB who manages games, and five straight games with sub-200 yards passing is awful for any starting NFL QB. He won't be pulled yet - but how long will Pioli and Haley wait before they acknowledge MC's not going to be here next year (which is already obvious) and see if there's any value in Palko or Stanzi?
