Chiefs Defense Causing Pressure But Chargers Lead, 7-0

The Kansas City Chiefs got a nice break on the San Diego Chargers first possession picking off a QB Philip Rivers pass and returning it 50 yards. S Kendrick Lewis did the duty with CB Javier Arenas in coverage on a pass intended for WR Vincent Jackson.

The Chiefs lined up to go for it on fourth down but TE Leonard Pope got a holding call moving them back 10 yards. That lead to K Ryan Succop missing a field goal -- his third miss of the season.

The Chiefs really needed to capitalize on that turnover and they didn't.

The Chargers got the ball back and started driving down the field. At one point, Rivers was hit in the backfield, fumbling the ball right in front of two Chiefs. Unfortunately for KC, they couldn't recover it and San Diego kept possession of the ball.

The Chargers continued marching down the field on a 15-play, 72-yard drive culminating in a touchdown.

Early in the second quarter, the Chargers lead 7-0.

What would hurt worse as a fan? Blowout or being up at half time 2 weeks in a row, comfortably, and blowing the lead?

Said it in the last thread but saying it again. That missed fumble is the offenses fault.

Defense feels like it has to make plays to compensate for the lack of offense instead of making the safe play.

Brady and Fitzpatrick sling the ball downfield at will, or if they do throw it short, it’s because they’ve read the defense, found the open receiver running a crisp route in stride to pick up more yardage.

We need this win today! I would bench Cassel in the second half and see what stanzi can do. We drafted him throw him in the shit and see what he can do. It might light a fire under cassels ass! I doubt it, it is worth a shot though.

yes, I understand and saw that mushin, but sometimes when you have few positives, its nice to point out something you dont see in the stat sheet

my bad for not mentioning that it was a first down.

At this point, really

This may be the worst football team I have ever watched. There are flashes from individuals on every play. Never see it from 11 guys. Result. 1st down.

by mushin on Sep 25, 2011 4:17 PM CDT up reply actions

that has nothing to do with an individual effort from sheffield, some arent watching the game, they see the gamecast that said first down

they didnt see the pressure or the positive signs of life from sheffield

seriously, grow up.

this type of BS is what makes me not want to post here

such negativity

YES WE SUCK

YES CASSEL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED

YES PLAYCALLING BLOWS

ok…so what else can we cover?

how about a positive from a 2nd year player coming off neck surgery?

Negativity? Are you really claiming that I am being overlly negative?

What do you think the game is doing in terms of rating. The fact that I’m here, and you’re here, says EVERYTHING you need to know about each other’s fandom. This is bad. I won’t blast you for sugar coating. You don’t blast me for sicking an ice pick in my eye

Im not talking about who is being a fan.

im saying your comment was pointless

yes there was a first down, yes its sad we suck

but sheffield had a nice pressure, something only th ose watching would see.

thats the point, thats a positive, and thats NOT sugarcoating, I said he was close to the ball and he was

so how is it pointless to tell some chief fans something as I said, YOU DONT SEE IN THE STAT SHEET

the real question was, what did YOUR comment add? answer? NOTHING

now you are just being a troll

so im done, in fact, ill prob ignore you from now on.

it was NOT SUGARCOATING. did I hype the pressurE? no, you just felt the need to demean it, and make it seem like nothing due to play outcome

I chose to look at a positive from a guy we need to step up

maybe if pressure on the other side was there, he gets a sack and strip
