How much did we overestimate the offense?

NFC West. the division was honestly that bad last season. I think if you look at Cassel and most other players that had breakout seasons last year got a lot of their stats against NFC West teams, thus largely over-inflating everyones expectations of them. All NFC West teams ranked 19th or lower last year in pass defense Cassel vs NFC West +Garbage time performance against DEN: 1329 yards 14 TDs 2 INT Translation: 51% of seasons TD, 42% of Yards came from 5 games. Bowe vs NFC West + Garbage time performance against DEN: 579 yards 8 TDs 36 Rec Translation: 50% of seasons Yards, 53% of TDs, 50% of Rec in 5 games. Bottom line…Outside of those 4 games against a woeful NFC West and the terrible Defenses they fielded, especially pass defense, and a garbage time stat booster against Denver, our offense was quite useless. So of course our offense looked good and our offense-backgrounded coach got a lot of praise for making the offense work, when in fact it was due quite a far bit to a soft schedule. granted we added some extra weapons but we may have really overestimated how good our offense was last year.
