O.K. folks, as one commentator put it...you can't polish this turd!
Here, the deal...I've been here before. This MAY be a blessing in disguise.
I'm a HUGE Spurs fan. Big deal, right. Well, I've GOT TO find something positive in this "pickle" we find ourselves in.
Follow me on this. I'm reaching out (grabbing for straws) here. In 1996 one of the 50 greatest NBA players in history, David Robinson, had been in the league about 10 years. INCREDIBLE player. Couldn't win a championship, for the life of him. Just couldn't get over the hump. About two weeks into the '96 season he's injured. He's out for the season. Sean Elliot, another star player goes down.
The Spurs end up with the 5th worst record in the league. They win the draft lottery, sorry Celtic fans, and draft one Tim Duncan. David gets 2 rings. Timmy gets 4 (and counting).
This is what's happening here. Losing Berry and JC is like losing David. Losing Moeiki and Baldwin's potential is like losing Sean.
Luck maybe the next Dan Marino, except capable of winning CHAMPIONSHIPS, comes to KC.
Hey...I said I was reaching...
