Chiefs vs. Lions: The Closing Line

Photo

Gameday is here and it is time for this week's edition of The Closing Line. It has been a rocky week since we were last preparing for a game. We got crushed by the Bills, we lost Eric Berry and fan confidence has bottomed out. Today though, that all could change with a big road victory of the Detroit Lions.

Let's catch up with the Vegas line and your final fantasy football info, as well as see who I am on this week!

Star-divide

As I mentioned in The Opening Line, the Chiefs were 7.5 point underdogs (8 in some places) and the total was 44. As of 9:30 AM Arrowhead Time, the line varies between 8, 8.5, and 9 at both Vegas casinos and offshore online sites. Right now, the line I see the most is 8.5 and the total is 45.

My thoughts on the line are that the public is very much in favor of the Lions today. This is good because the public is usually wrong, but not always. I am leery of laying any money on the Chiefs to cover 8.5 today. My advice for you is to use the Chiefs in a 6, 7 or 9 point teaser and get them at 14.5, 15.5, or 17.5, Click the link for a decent explanation on a teaser. Otherwise, I would lay off our game today.

Fantasy Football Gameday Notes

The following are the latest updates on fantasy football players who were on the injury report that I think you would possibly have in your lineup:

TE Chris Cooley (knee, questionable)
WR Santonio Holmes (knee, questionable)
WR Calvin Johnson (ankle, questionable) will play in my opinion
TE Marcedes Lewis (calf, doubtful)
WR Lance Moore (groin, questionable)
WR Roy Williams (groin, questionable)
WR Dez Bryant (thigh, questionable)
WR Michael Crabtree (feet, questionable)
RB Arian Foster (hamstring, questionable) as of right now will play
WR Brandon Lloyd (groin, questionable)
RB Knowshon Moreno (hamstring, questionable) gametime decision, McGahee will start otherwise

Those who are officially out: Jacoby Ford, Sidney Rice, Derrick Ward

*Most injury updates are official at 10:30 Arrowhead time, so check any sports websites you trust until then for up to the minute coverage.

Steve in RI's selections:

I ended up 3-4 in the NFL last week. I posted 5 plays and then after being down was fortunate to take the Cowboys at night and the Over in the Raiders game to salvage the week, This is where my money will be deposited today:

Green Bay -10

Indianapolis +2

Dallas -3

Washington -3.5

Jets/Green Bay/Baltimore 3 team, 9 point teaser (risk 120 to win 100)

Alrighty, well that's all I have today here in The Closing Line. When we meet again, I hope we have something to celebrate! Have a great day!

I know last week was well .. last week

But I know our chiefs are young , and make mistakes . There also talented and can win anygame at anytime “I know maybe not teams like patriots”. It really just depends on them . Expect a little more passion this week . Go CHiefs !

What kind of Karma is this?

How can we have all of our star players fall in succession like this? I hope that JC is okay. This was a great drive.
