Chiefs Worked Out A Few Safeties Before Bringing Reshard Langford Back
The Kansas City Chiefs lost S Eric Berry for the season and on Wednesday announced that S Reshard Langford, who was cut a week earlier, was brought back.
Before bringing Langford back, they worked out several safeties, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com. Those safeties include Gerald Alexander, Vincent Fuller and Chris Horton.
The Chiefs also worked out offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka, who has the Chiefs connection having played for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots previously.
The Chiefs try players out just about every week and we only hear about a few of them so I wouldn't look too far into this.

Anybody with a recognizeable name.
Who wasn’t good enough anymore to be a backup on any other team. Think Mike Brown…
So to you
as long as the name is recognizable, we should just pay the man and stick him in, hoping for the best? And when I think Mike Brown, I want to regurgitate…

see link below
There are upgrades at the Safety position available, and possibly other positions as well
Seems like you'd at least take a look at someone like Sharper, wouldn't you?

I'm going to stop predicting positive things

Gerald Alexander and Horton
are much better athletes than langford.. All we need is someone to step in and cover the TE.. I’d get alexander.. I think our run d is gonna be awful again without berry :(
can't Jalil play safety?
First of all, you throwin' too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take 'em as disrespect...
Maybe it's just me but Brown was as impressive as I thought he would be.

I haven't really heard much about him this off season...
as far as good, bad, or indifferent…
First of all, you throwin' too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take 'em as disrespect...
He looked real solid in the first couple preseason games in man coverage
Then we started using him in that man-off and zone and he got burned. A lot.
The Chiefs and I have mutually agreed on this decision and although I look forward to continuing my career, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Kansas City.
AP is a great place to be right now...
Everyday I log in and see more pictures of the Lions and their players. WOO HOO!.

Comparison
It feels more like “Look at this team, aren’t they awesome?!?” as opposed to “Here is our enemy, HATE THEM!”

If nothing else
it should (forgive me for being forward here) shut up everyone who has been bitching about the team not bringing in anyone for depth. I’m certainly not a big fan of Sabby or McGraw starting, but the pool of players available in free agency isn’t anything to get excited about either. Horton played good as an undrafted rookie in Washington, but there must be a reason why he’s currently unsigned by anyone. I’m sure someone like Sharper has worked out for other teams and I’m guessing that his body is just too beat up at his age now. I’m willing to bet that if Player X has a bad workout with a team or just doesn’t have the skill anymore, other teams will find out. I’m sure GMs talk.
Your eyes tell you more than any statistics can.
"Exceeded" expectations last year with the youth and talent we had...
…and a year before that we saw as expected a rebuilding year one under Haley/Pioli. This year we continue to see growing pains (and how painful it is to see!!). But I can also see how NOT forcing your hand to pick up quick fix players benefits this team as a whole in the years ahead, consistent with what they’ve been preaching all along.
Romeo Crennel could've played better than Sabby!!!
I’ll give Sabby one more week and call it a ‘learning curve’, and hope he pulls his head out of his ass. I think Langford has a better shot.
I think our defense will benefit from the increased aggressiveness of Tamba Hali, Powe, Houston, and Derrick Johnson, which should take alittle pressure off the secondary. However, the Lions passing game will challenge even the strongest of defenses. So here’s to hoping Romeo Crennel can get these guys to go lights out…

You tell me?
Where exactly have you heard that before? Was it from a friend who heard a radio show host who heard it from Whitlock? Because you didn’t hear anybody say it on record. It’s funny how that rumor gets started up again after a blowout loss.
He heard it from a friend,
Who heard it form a friend, who heard it from another

Roy Williams?
As in Cowboy Roy Williams? I didn’t think he dropped off that far.
How about another CB and just shift some players around.

Right, the more you can do the more valuable you are
However, he isn’t going to take a starting CB and make him a safety…then you have 2 new starters instead of one.
I just say
Move Albert to the #1 WR spot, slide Bowe to the #2 WR, Dexter in as LT, slide Cassel over to RT, put Powe in on the active roster at QB and move B-Rich over to SS. Every hole filled, and all weakness’ fixed.
Haha...extreme I like it

Javier Arenas-SS?
Before the draft there was talk that he could fill in a safety position…he lacks the height but is quick and has the built.

At this point, and it isn’t all that close.
Daniels at CB is better than Jalil at CB at this point.. yes
However how either of them are at S.. no one knows

If it was FS that needed filling, it would be different
However SS is a completely different role and with how we used Berry(or how Berry used US) there are a lot of things the new guy is going to have to do

Kendrick Lewis for the taking...
He need to step up now that Berry is not there, I think he can be that S that come closer into the box and makes plays, also needs to come full circle has the “ball-hawk” that the staff talked about last year coming out of the draft…
