Admit it. You thought Cameron Newton was going to suck crap in the NFL. Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better, since that's what I thought, but I I imagine I'm not alone. So much for that as Cam Newton had the most impressive debut outing of any QB I've ever seen. He set the new record(over Manning himself) for passing yards for a debut game as well as most crow any player has ever forced me to eat. Cam was incapable of doing anything other than make huge plays on a consistent basis. He was hitting everyone and their mother downfield, often into tight windows. At one point Jesus Christ was clearly lined up on Steve Smith but Newton got him the ball anyway. His 65% completion percentage actually understates how accurate he was. Many of his incompletions were brilliant passes that were simply mishandled by the receiver. What's more, he was assailed all day by a vicious AZ pass rush. Newton just belted the ball downfield anyway. His lone INT was due to a LB making an insane read/react and cartwheeling over the WR to make a play on the ball. I don't know what Newton's passer rating was but it'll be deistic.
