Of course we are all enraged and disheartened by the ineptitude of the players, coaching staff and front office, which all contributed to the stomping we just received. I could complain about the many problems, poor plays, and poor decisions, but that won't make me or you feel better. Instead, I'm hoping someone (maybe someone who was at the game) could answer a few questions that I have:
1. Did we have any RECEIVERS open down-the-field? I can't figure out if it's the receivers not getting open, Matt Cassel's lack of arm/inability/check-down nature, or the play-calling. The only way to judge this situation, I feel, is to KNOW if the there are people open, which I can't see from the TV feed.
2. Why was Bailey playing over the center as, seemingly, nose tackle so much? From my memory, he has NEVER done that, but he seemed to be in for Gregg ALOT. Why?
3. Will the RB screen/ safety-valve dump off ever work without opening it up downfield? I'm not an analyst and I don't get to watch game-tape, but if I know it's coming, don't the opposing coaches know? If it's 2 or 3 and 6+, it will be a screen or draw, and both are getting blown up. How will this work without actual play variety?
I'm sure many of you have 'smarter football minds' than I and am just hoping that you can help me get a grasp on this team and the true situation that they (and we) are in. Thanks.
