Kansas City Chiefs Scouts Already Back At It

Stay connected for news and updates

Shortly after the 2011 NFL draft ended, Kansas City Chiefs scouts started their work on the 2012 NFL draft. That includes things like watching film and preparing their schedule to see games and practices at schools across the country this year.

Practice for colleges has started and Chiefs scouts are back at it. i noticed a reporter for the Clarion-Ledger in Mississippi tweet that there was a Chiefs scout at a football practice for Jackson State.

Yep, Aug. 7 and Chiefs scouts are preparing for a draft that won't take place for another nine months.

I know this is the way every team does it but it always surprises me how much work these guys put in on the draft class each year.

Let's hope the Chiefs get the guy they want from Jackson State. (Update: The reporter says the Chiefs scout was checking out DE Donovan Robinson.)

Speaking of scouts, I believe scouts from other teams can't come to other teams' training camps unless there's a fee to enter. Last Saturday, it was $12 to enter camp practice so it makes me wonder if scouts from other NFL teams were hanging out in the stands watching practice.
