These Chiefs Players Are Waiting To Practice

Stay connected for news and updates

If all goes well today, the new collective bargaining agreement will be voted on and approved by the players officially kicking off the new league year. For most of us, the significance of this is that those free agents that have signed new deals and are sitting out of practice can get back into action.

From my count, there are 19 players who have agreed to terms with the Chiefs that can start practicing once this is done. Those players are:

Free agents re-signed to Chiefs: C Casey Wiegmann, S Jon McGraw, CB Travis Daniels, WR Terrance Copper, TE Leonard Pope, OT Ryan O'Callaghan, RB Jackie Battle, LB Tamba Hali (franchise tag) S Reshard Langford (ERFA), Wallace Gilberry (RFA), CB Brandon Carr (RFA), OT Barry Richardson (RFA) and FB Mike Cox (RFA).

New free agents signed: WR Steve Breaston signed from Cardinals; NT Kelly Gregg reportedly signed from Ravens; WR Zeke Markshausen signed off the street; WR Chris Manno signed off the street; FB Le'Ron McClain signed from Ravens; and LB Brandon Siler from the Chargers

That nearly a quarter of the players on the roster so once these guys get to St. Joe, training camp can really begin.
