Do we really believe its Sandbagging?

Listen guys, Im all for believing that Haley doesn't want anyone to see the Chiefs entire hand before the season starts but, come on this is a little too much.  Do we really honestly believe that Haley is telling to purposely throw the ball at the feet of receivers, or above their heads, or behind them.  Do we really believe that Haley is telling the receivers that once Cassel throws the ball in their hands to drop it.  Do we really believe that Haley is telling our tackles to just let the DE go around them and destroy Cassel.  I don't think so.  To be honest with all my fellow Chiefs fans, I'm tired of hearing the "sandbaggin" theme.

Until the last couple games of last season I was a believer in Matt Cassel.  I really thought that maybe, just maybe, this guy could be what the Chiefs needed to make a run at a Superbowl.  With the last two starts of the 2010 season he began to really make me wonder.  How does a NFL quarterback, getting paid millions of dollars, make these mistakes?  Quarterback 101, do not stare down the receiver that you are throwing the ball to.  Cassel is making that mistake 65% of the time.  He is not checking down his options.  Then after the season I was hoping that maybe he just collapsed and will make improvements in the off season.  That has not been the case.  Cassel is still making this critical mistake.  He is focused on one receiver and never looks the field for other options.  I would love to believe that Cassel is just "sandbaggin" but I have to be a real fan of football and not just the Chiefs.  Cassel has some serious QB problems that I think can be fixed but, I thought he would have taken care of it in the offseason.  Even with the lockout and little practice time, you would have thought Haley would have gotten this under control.  Do I think that Stanzi or Palko is the answer?  I really can't give you a definitive answer.  I just believe in my heart that Cassel is not the one.  Maybe as an organization the Chiefs need to swollow their pride and admit they made a mistake with Cassel.

So with all that said, is "sandbaggin" really whats going on?  Or is our beloved Chiefs in real trouble.  I love the Chiefs with all my heart but I'm thinking we are headed toward the latter.  Haley and Pioli must really makes some changes for us to contend.  The Quarterback position must be addressed, Barry Richardson has to quit holding, receivers must stop dropping passes and finally we have to stop throwing it two yards deep when its 3rd and 20!  I think that we have what it takes to be a Championship ball club but, we have got to stop making high school mistakes.  I'm sorry if I have been a "downer" to some but this all needs to be said.
