Last night while sitting in-studio with Jay Binkley on 810 WHB a caller asked about Kansas City Chiefs undrafted free agent OT David Mims. Binkley noted he had the NFL size and I said that of all the Chiefs undrafted free agents he may getting the most attention.
We can now add a couple more praise-worthy UDFAs to the list. ESPN's Scouts Inc. ranked all the undrafted free agents in the AFC West and the Chiefs have the top two -- DE Brandon Bair and TE Charlie Gantt.
Bair fits in with the Chiefs defensive ends, at least through a few days of practice. He obviously has some work to do coming in as an undrafted free agent but he held his own during workouts. After the first day I went to camp, I said to another media member that my money is on Mims or Bair making the roster.
Gantt definitely looks the part at 6'4" and 252 pounds coming out of Michigan State and I've heard the KC Star's Adam Teicher say he really likes Gantt. GM Scott Pioli and Todd Haley always seem to have a few tight ends on the roster so he's someone to watch as well.
Not bad for the Chiefs and undrafted free agents. If two or more of these guys make the roster then I'd say they've done a good job.
