Rams Leading Chiefs Nearing Halftime

PrintThe Kansas City Chiefs have looked decent at times tonight and pretty bad at other times. The battle for the Governor's Cup is at halftime and the St. Louis Rams lead the Chiefs, 14-3.
Here are a few highlights of the game....
-QB Sam Bradford completed his first eight passes of the game.
-RB Jamaal Charles scored a touchdown but it was called back on a holding call on C Rodney Hudson.
-Speaking of Hudson, he was playing left guard on that play.
-QB Tyler Palko came in with the first team on a series. Presumably, this was his chance to get some first team snaps because Cassel was back in soon after.
-P Dustin Colquitt drilled one inside the one-yard line. Perfect punt that hit the ground and bounced straight up in the air.
-Chiefs owner Clark Hunt joined the KCTV-5 broadcast for about half of the second quarter.

At least on D has been Mcgraw. he is rediculously (sp) slow.

Berry got beat in coverage and McGraw has just been making every tackle that presents itself

That he is always late getting there and almost got outran by bradford. Not to mention he has been consistantly late getting into his drops in zone coverage.

should have wrecked Bradford when he scrambled out. But was too slow and had to make an ankle grab to bring him down.

Some of us really don’t care. Its just not a legitimate excuse for how bad the o-line looks, how much the d-line is getting blown off the line, no pressure when we rush 3 or 4, the secondary giving up big plays, and Cassel

never really put the team on this back though. He just managed the game. What happened against the Ravens? I’m not completely against him but if he doesn’t show signs of being a qb that can lead this team to the superbowl, I want stanzi.

Don’t recall any of the preseasons since Haley has been here that this team looked ready for the regular season, yet the results have been different when the regular season comes

Does anyone else think we need a new RT. I’m not a big fan of Richarson, especially after what happened last year with the ST coach. Also, tonight with the holds and fighting with the DE. He’s lets his emotions get the best of him.

This is still only preseason. I think Cassel is barely a game manager, but many other pieces are good. I think the Defense is going to be what keeps us in games this year. I’m still waiting to pass judgement until I see the game against Buffalo. Everyone needs to settle down, because we sucked in the preseason last year.

was a long time ago. Cassel has not gotten significantly better over the course of 3-4 years. He has looked completely average in that time span.
Just trying to point out that preseason and regular season are very different.
Cassel has ups and downs. Just like every other QB out there. I would still take him over a lot of other QB’s out there, and I am certainly not going to freak out about a few preseason performances.

our coverage units seem to have plenty of practice, so wouldn’t the team benefit from having an extra snap every series? Also, it’s not like it matters if we give up field position as it’s clear the Chiefs aren’t trying to win the games.

running the ball with rb/fb we aren’t even going to give the ball in the regular season. I want to see stanzi pass and lead them to victory so he starts for the Chiefs next season (Cassel can stay starting for one more year).

Why not go for a 4th down TD? I am not ok with this game. Stanzi and Palko looked pretty damn good though in the 4th. It’s amazing what happens when you have more than .3 seconds to throw the ball. OLine needs to get it together.
