Who was the number two NFL tackling 3-4 scheme DE in 2010? KC CHIEF, #72-G. DORSEY
I have finally had it with KC fans (or are they really KC fan for not knowing the following) posting that G. DORSEY is still a concern to them within the KC D scheme. I'm not sure where the unfounded concern comes from but I can say with certainty that it can only be based on pure sheepish attitudes combined with pure laziness.
Check the NFL DL stats from 2010 and note who the number two 3-4 based DE in tackles in 2010 was (number 5 overall DL'man in the entire NFL).
Then check the G. DORSEY's ascending career numbers:

Does that surprise you? It doesn't surprise me because unlike others, I have been patiently watching #72 grow his craft at the NFL level. We seem to all know his journey started out as a 4-3 DT, a position he was comortable with coming out of the NCAA as a highly projected top 5 pick. Then he abruptly had the scheme changed on him and a new regime pressing him to do more than what he was familiar with as a young D-lineman.
He even found himself in a doghouse with the new HC for a spell while trying to improve his individual game alongside less than stellar talent during his 3 year professional tenure.
Through it all, he kept his head down, his mouth (for the most part) shut and has performed like a pro.
His individual numbers have only done one thing as a Chief, they have ascended in every season.
Better yet, albeit with the assistance from scheme continuity and improving team talent, KC also saw their overall NFL D ranking rise from #30 in 2009 to 14th overall in 2010.
Yes, all stats can be used to show whatever you want but when combined with the eye test and team improvement, stats can assist in telling a complete story.
So, what more do you want form the guy? <--That's rhetorical btw.
All I want from any athlete I enjoy watching play pro sports is to see them act like pros and progress in their craft.
#72-G. DORSEY-DE has served this fan and his team well in regards to those simple requests.
Give the guy some kudos for his determination to get better and enjoy watching him and his improving cast, get to where they say the want to go, the Superbowl!
Go 2011-2012 KC CHIEFS!

Actually....
Justin Smith was the number one 3-4 DE in tackles
Whoopsie
Me and Matt Cassel just - you up, dog!
Another way to see how well Dorsey is doing his job at RDE
Is to see how productive the OLB behind him has been. They’re effectively a tandem. Tamba is tearing it up because A) He’s a mutant manbeast from another planet, and B) Dorsey is doing his job disrupting the O Line so Tamba can do his job.
I think that we’re set up nicely on D Line. At least for this year, and as long as Gregg has gas in the tank. If Powe develops quickly, then we should be set for a long time to come, barring injuries.
That’s actually pretty exciting stuff.
The Chiefs and I have mutually agreed on this decision and although I look forward to continuing my career, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Kansas City.
i swore i seen the 49ers runing
a 4-3 when we played them.idk but dorsey steped his game up in 2010" now he has to do it again vs the best.
yeah but i seen 4 down line men
and 3 LB a 4-3 so how is he a ILB? matter fact anytime i seen the niners they were in a 4-3.
amen to me ppl wanting a trade of dorsey fall into the same
category as those calling for bowes head the offseason before this. the tjack bust label is ludicrous, too. All he has to do is get a lil better vs the run and he was a righteous pick, as well. Tjack is extremely solid but im guessing most of those labeling him a bust expect 3-4 DE’s to rush the quarterback instead of pummel the rt and and rg all day, and come off a block every now and then for a tackle.
