I understand CH paid aot of $$$ out of pocket to renovate Arrowhead and he would like to recoup that money and that the best way to do that is to keep salaries low thereby maximizing revenues.  This is the only explanation I can find to explain why our club has done VERY LITTLE during this free agent frenzy.  I suppose wanting to model our club after Pittsburgh (who doesnt generally spend alot on guys they aren't familiar with but rather trains their draftee's to play their style/system) could also be another reason. 

However, as a fan I feel reborn after last season.  The excitement that i literally live for every Sunday is beyond words.   Equally beyond words is my disappointment with the lack of 'Sizzle" during this free agency period.  I understand we have to sign our own guys and will use alot of money to do that...but C'MON MAN!!!  Our beloved Chiefs were 31st out of 32 clubs last year in payroll and this will likely be the case again this year.  I was so certain that Pioli managed our finances purposely to give us the latitude to make MAJOR upgrades during this crazy time.  Did that happen (in my mind) NO NO NO.  In my mind it WAS very probable that with the addition of a few key studs we could make a serious run at the Lombardi!!!  Don't get me wrong...I love Kelly to mentor our young guys but he's 34 for Christ sake.  I LOVE Breaston and believe he was the best move we could have made at a position of dire need.  That being said, NOBODY can convince me that we would not have benefited by making a push for more quality O-Linemen (specifically a RT), LB's (Siler doesn't exactly strike me as a bonafied stud), DE's (i do not believe TJ will ever be what we need him to be...here's hoping to the rest of you out there) etc... 

Point is...i have been refreshing my screen every 5 minutes for the last week and I'm tired of the lack of action.  I certainly believe our club has much more talent that we did last year and young talent at that.  Do I know what has been going on behind the scenes...of course not.  But I have a hard time believing that with the foundation we have built here in KC that with the right lucrative offers we couldn't attract more big name ballers that may have potentially made all the difference between a good team and a GREAT team.  Again, i firmly believe we could have done more with the resources at our disposal...just sayin.
