I think given the timing of free agency, we'll only go after guys with system experience

That’s been true thus far. If we get another NT, I’d bet he has 2-gap experience. Same with someone who has played SILB.

Crowder is one of the only FA additions I could see on the defense. Given the number of internal candidates, I don’t think they will bring him in either.

Maybe Franklin could be a great 2-gap NT, but given no experience at the position, I think they’re probably reluctant to bring a guy in without OTA’s, etc. to work on a new position.

Franklin was drafted by the ravens

I think he understands 2 gap tech. That article acts like 1 gap guys have the plague for 2 gap teams and vice versa. Prob with Franklin is the consesus he’s an underachiever. You’d think for a one tech he’d have more than 4 sacks in his career. 2 gap to 1 tech is not rocket science.
