Rodney Hudson Becomes 7th Chiefs Draft Pick To Sign
Make it seven of 'em.
Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports C Rodney Hudson is signed, sealed and delivered meaning he can participate in training camp.
Hudson, the Chiefs second round pick, marks the seventh draft pick KC has signed so far. The team officially announced six of them earlier today.
So here's who has signed: Hudson, DL Allen Bailey, DB Jalil Brown, QB Ricky Stanzi, LB Gabe Miller, DL Jerrell Powe and FB Shane Bannon.
And here's who is left: WR Jonathan Baldwin, LB Justin Houston.
Baldwin of course is the Chiefs first round pick so no surprise that he could be the last one. Houston could be a bit of an interesting case considering so many people thought he was a fringe first rounder.
GM Scott Pioli said it's reasonable to expect all nine of these guys to get into camp on time. The clock is ticking but he's getting closer.

Likewise.
They should have a week-long free agency period every year. Although it’s really lowered our productivity at work. Instead of talking about football moves once or twice a day, it’s once or twice an hour.
Should be good for the best agents
and weed out the smaller agencies in the future. Quick signings fast money, less players dropping agents due to contract BS.
This will make it stable unless agents find a new loop hole, but I bet the new CBA is pretty ironclad when it comes to the language in the rookie cap.
We shall see.

Are rookies subject to the $30k fine for holding out?
It’s not really a holdout I guess, but are they penalized for being late to camp?
No

No, they're gonna get him stoned before they have him read the contract

Justin Houston is gonna hold out

Do people think getting them signed so quickly
is a product of the New CBA.? The time frame in which they were given before camp actually started? Or some combo of both?
Mostly the new CBA.
There is some wiggle room for guaranteed money, but contracts are mostly predetermined. In fact, PFT predicted no holdouts by draftees.
both

I guess what I'm getting at is that in the future, hold outs arent going to be near the commonplace they have been in the past
Which would be awesome
Fewer holdouts

Not really, but he can be the biggest miss of the draft
Considering every pick pretty much looked good
ON the contrary
I think he will be one the best rookie defenders in the NFL.
