Chad Ochocinco Reportedly Traded To Patriots
OK, now New England is just messing with us now.
A few hours after reportedly acquiring DT Albert Haynesworth for the measly sum of a fifth round pick, the Patriots have reportedly acquired Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco. ESPN's John Clayton reports Ochocinco had to restructure his contract to get the deal done. Now he has a new three-year deal in New England.
The cost? A late round pick in 2012 and another in 2013.
Unbelievable.
Every year, it seems the Patriots do it. Say what you want about Ochocinco, but I firmly believe he steps into New England and puts up big numbers sort of like WR Randy Moss did a few years ago when a lot of people thought he was done.
Soo...Monday night in New England on November 21 just got a little tougher.

Grumble
Good pick-up for them. Chad didn’t really help his value. I think I’ve said this before but they are adding a lot of malcontent that could blow up on them.
what if we all chip in and send over some underaged hookers to the patriots training camp
then post it on facebook

these two moves will be the downfall of the patroits season, chad is a loudmouth and never shuts up
lame
Dude never says anything negative and wants to win. He and Haynesworth make this team scary good.
You can't live that American dream on foot, bro. Aint nobody riding horses no more.
You are correct
People blow Chad’s “character” issues way out of proportion. He has really always been a team player.

Gotta agree here
No character issues. He just runs his mouth a lot, but not saying bad things. He just likes attention. Which is fine.
He’s a bright guy and pretty funny. Sure he won’t shut up, but at least what he has to say is interesting and usually entertaining.
Chiefs - back in the playoffs in 2011.
attention seekers are rarely good team players
although I did like his Sharpie thing, that was funny and harmless … but again, a guy like that is USUALLY an “all about me” guy and that’s not the Patriots Way

Haynesworth and now Johnson – ghastly.
Say what you will about Chad – he’s going to play hard for that team. He will be hard to shut up but if any team will get him to, it’s the Pats.
This is going to be an interesting and exciting year!
This is way better for Cincy than trading Chad

Exactly
he’s forcing the Jets hand. Now Sexy Rexy will feel COMPELLED to sign Nnamdi, and will overstretch his cap space in doing so. Nnamdi and Revis will match up on Chad and Tate… welker in the slot, woodhead in the backfield, an blitz-happy rexy, and TDs for the diminutive white dudes.

it's going to happen just like moss with these two
patriots will get 1-2 good years, then these guys are going to be head aches and they will get rid of them, getting more than they originally paid to get them.
Wait...
Ochocinco & Haynesworth… Good luck with that coach! head shake
I'm not impressed.
Haynesworth is trouble… maybe not at first but he is definately trouble.
Chad 88 is slowing down… but he does have Tommy B chucking it to him now…. hmmmm.
They will win and get close…. but I’m not buying the Superbowl hype just yet.

somebody is Jumping The Shark
Jumping the shark is an idiom, first employed to describe a moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality that is beyond recovery.
In its initial usage, it referred to the point in a television program’s history where it has “outlived its freshness” 1 where viewers feel “the writers have run out of ideas” and that “the series has [lost] what made it attractive.”2 These changes were often the result of efforts to revive interest in a show whose audience had begun to decline.3
The usage of “jump the shark” has subsequently broadened beyond television, indicating the moment in its evolution when a brand, design, or creative effort moves beyond the essential qualities that initially defined its success, beyond relevance or recovery.
ehhhhhhh!

You guys are reading into it this too much...
I should have said the road to the Super Bowl is through New England. After we beat them we will defeat the packers and get revenge for Super Bowl 1. We are also going to beat those damn Colts in the divisional round…if we sign Franklin, McClain, and a competent RT.

with Revis I think, about making so many catches or catching a TD or something. Bet his last name. He lost that bet, but has not paid up.

Chad’s numbers haven ’t been on the decline because he was disenfranchised like Moss though… His numbers have been going down because he has been getting hurt and actually has declining skills.
And Randy Moss was 3 years younger than Chad Ochocinco when he went to the Patriots.
