Stay connected for news and updates

As is the case around One Arrowhead Drive, we tend to find out about news near the 5 o'clock hour. Today, we've learned that the Kansas City Chiefs have signed six of their nine 2011 NFL draft picks to contracts.

As of 4:15 p.m. (CT) today, we had known about three potential draft pick signings

Here are the six total draft picks that have signed for the Chiefs: DL Allen Bailey, DB Jalil Brown, QB Ricky Stanzi, LB Gabe Miller, DL Jerrell Powe and FB Shane Bannon.

We don't have contract details for everyone but we do have reported numbers for a few:

  • DL Allen Bailey - 4 years, $2.67 million;
  • QB Ricky Stanzi - 4 years, $2.2 million;
  • FB Shane Bannon - 4 years, $51,000 signing bonus (No word yet on contract details).

The Kansas City Chiefs remaining draft picks that need to sign include first round WR Jonathan Baldwin, second round pick C Rodney Hudson and third round pick LB Justin Houston

Just two days ago, Scott Pioli said it's reasonable to expect all nine draft picks to be ready for the start of the Kansas City Chiefs 2011 training camp.
