Rudy Niswanger Not Sure If He'll Return To Chiefs
Rudy Niswanger is the Kansas City Chiefs player rep and was involved in the negotiations with the NFL owners over the past few months.
I think it's important to note that Niswnager had an important role in the negotiations because he was doing it all while not knowing if he'll even be back with the Chiefs. Because of the rules that moves free agency back to a four-year threshold, Niswanger is scheduled to be a free agent now.
Will he back in KC next year? He tells Bob Fescoe on 610 Sports he's not sure yet.
I don't set any expectations for this period. We'll just have to see how it plays out. If other teams are interested, and the Chiefs are interested, I'll have some decisions to make after that. That's kinda the way I'll leave it.
In a short offseason, I'd bring Niswanger back -- at least to camp. The Chiefs can determine from there what they do with him but my official guess is that he's in Chiefs camp.
It sounds like the negotiations between the owners and players ended on a good note so I wouldn't expect any backlash against Niswanger because he's a player rep.

Hope not.
He’s a human turnstile. Would rather go with Wigemann for one more year and Hudson.
He's better than Eric Guicheck
It is what it is and we are who we are.

I'd keep him at least through camp
Herzlich to the Gmen
Tully Banta-Cain notified he will be released from the pats, Pioli’s replacement for Vrable?

This has been weighing heavy on my heart
I’d say Rudy and I have become friends or at least acquaintances through the Joplin Fund Raiser and Twitter. Rudy has been very fan friendly to everyone through Twitter, especially through the process of the lockout. I don’t see the Chiefs carrying three centers on the roster. Wiegmann coming back puts us in a bad position honestly. We know Hudson is the future and Casey is probably the best to mentor him, but Casey is done after this year. If we cut Rudy now, we go into next season with only one center and we’ll be left to draft another or pick one up through FA.

I wouldn't mind if Rudy stayed for a C/G swing type role
He might be better at guard but we have a log jam there right now

We still have no idea on Waters' status
There have been plenty of trade talks and he has to be down to just 1-3 years remaining in the league.

Then Asamoah steps right in to LG
I think Rudy would rather have a shot to start. With Asamoah/Hudson it doesn’t appear he will get that shot for awhile

If Waters goes
I think Asamoah would step in at RG, and Lilja would go back to the left side.

He may stick around
He might stick because he can play guard also, with him asamoah, and hudson you have there guys who can play guard our center, you know that has to be appealing to pioli…….

Agreed.
I don’t want Rudy Niswanger playing center, but if we keep him on the roster as a backup swing guard, I’d be very okay with it.
"[Jamaal Charles] probably fights crime in his spare time while inhaling carbon emissions, exhaling oxygen, and crapping oil. That’s how awesome he is. Not just good for the Chiefs, but America."

Was less than impressed with his play
whenever he was on the field. Wouldn’t pain me to see him go especially if Weigs comes back
He's decent depth.
He’s better at guard than center however, but at least has some versatility there. I don’t care either way really. Good guy though, but so was Herm Edwards.
