The NFL lockout is all but officially over so now the real fun starts.
2011 NFL free agency rumors.
If you've been around here during free agency before then you know things come quickly and we already have a number of free agency rumors involving the Kansas City Chiefs.
We'll kick off this year's rendition of Chiefs free agency rumors with Baltimore Ravens FB Le'Ron McClain. Beat writer for the Carroll County Times and National Football post reporter Aaron Wilson tweeted this on McClain and the Chiefs:
If Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain leaves via free agency, expect the Kansas City Chiefs to have interest in him.
[Editor's note: It feels so good to be talking about actual football topics and not courtrooms.]
Wilson covers the Ravens so this information could be coming from the player's side of things. It's not unusual for agents to leak out information about players to drive up their value in free agency.
That said, McClain is an interesting option. The Chiefs have FB Mike Cox and (depending on free agency) FB Tim Castille so they do have options but McClain is the cream of the crop when it comes to fullbacks. The Chiefs will make their money in the running game so supplying themselves with the top fullback on the market could make sense.
