For Christs sake, gimme some football. I appreciate all the hard work the players and owners are doing to strike a deal. But lets get real guys, we need to get a deal done now. If we have a shortened season or no season it will be catastrophic to everyone involved, from the owners to the fans. Nobody makes any money, and nobody gets to watch their favorite team make a run at a championship. And even if say we have football by week 3, whoever wins the Superbowl will always have their Superbowl win tainted by the fact it was a shortened season. In fact if we have to have a shortened season, I say we just go ahead and put the entire season on hold, and make sure we have the deal hammered out proper. After all i think i speak for all football fans when i say we really want some dam football, instead of one story after another about this miserable Lockout.
This Lockout reminds me of the baseball strike of 97. Bob "the hammer" Hamlin was playing for the Royals and had a shot at Roger Maris and his home run record, then they stopped playing ball about the all star break. I still remember how much the strike pissed me off, to this day i only keep one eye on the Royals. Baseball suffered for many years after the strike and probably still suffers today, because a deal could not be struck. I don't think the NFL wants to go down the same path, the lost revenue would be astounding, not to mention the people it would put out of work and the declining fan base, the damage would be extensive. So lets get a deal done and play some football for Christs sake.
Did i say i was a nobody? What i meant was i'm a irritated fan who's had it with this Lockout. In fact, has the season looms large and a deal still in the works, i'm as nervous has a cat on a hot tin roof. I want this deal done, i need this deal done. So c'mon guys pack an extra lunch and stay late and do whatever else needs to be done to end this crap. After all there is always Saturday football, college basketball, baseball, hockey, synchronized swimming, something else is always on. don't make us look away we may not look back. Stop the madness, before a whole lot of nobody's become somebody and make their voices heard by way of declining tickets sales and so forth. Please don't forget about the fans and we won't forget about you.
