Simple Math? B.Carr and Gunther reunite in Detroit?

I know this has been bounced around some already - that being Brandon Carr might not be a Chief next year. However, the reality is his position is in high demand around the league. There are several teams needing a CB and while Carr is not mentioned in the same breath as the ex-raider Scrabble his talent is coveted. Gunther being Gunther will probably make a run at his services.

Do I want this to happen? Absolutely not. But CB's are in big demand and we will have our work cut out for us. Teams like the Buc's,Cowboys,Eagles and Lions all figure not to finish so poorly as to have a high number 1 next year, so giving up that draft pick for a starting CB is not as difficult as some think. Worrisome to me is that valuable CB's on the Patriots were traded away in NE while Pioli was there. If Donnie Washington had stepped up and shown he was close to getting it I wouldn't worry so much, but he hasn't. Time will tell and we shall see. But beware my friends, this situation is certainly uncertain.

The National Football Post has a write-up today about the Lions and the dire straights they are in at CB and how they are going to pursue Scrabble. Personally I think Scrabble has been enjoying the weather in California and see him in Dallas. Tampa, like Dallas has no personal income tax and are warm weather climates so I would bet my money on those locations over the others. This leaves those other teams in the market for a CB, and Detroit, with Gunther as the D Coordinator who knows Carr's abilities, knows he will be a good fit in their scheme.

Anyway, while I'm not trying to be a harbinger of doom and gloom, we all know that this is a business and just wishing for our players to stay is nothing but pipe dreams. We should know what players will be with the team come training camp, and hopefully some familiar faces will still be here. Go Chief's!!!
