Best memory that comes to mind off the top of my head. Drafting Justin Houston at 70 in 2011.
My memory of the moment. (Location: Pleasant Valley, MO at my house. Date: April, 29, 2011) It was the 6th pick of the 3rd Round. My buddy Jimmy and I were talking on the phone about our favorite player available. In all honesty I would have drafted Justin Houston at 26. "How the hell is Justin Houston still there," said Jimmy."How Crazy would it be if the Chiefs drafted Justin Houston right here," said I. The pick was in.... I have dish network and Jimmy has cable. There was a delay in my coverage on NFL network. Jimmy is getting antsy on the phone sorda mildly excited. He was like, "damn dude do you still not know who we took." After 15 to 20 secounds I was like, " no man who is it?" JUSTIN HOUSTON," said Jimmy. Then, I freaked out!!!! Great PICK!
Worst memory since I can remember off the top of my head. Drafting Tyson Jackson at 3rd overall in 2009. My memory of the moment. (Location: Arrowhead Practice Facility. Date: April 25, 2009) Spirits that day were very high. Carl Petterson's reign of terror was over, Scott Pioli was here to save the day! Everyone, including I felt like we were going to select Aaron Curry the best player available. Wrong! I along with 2 friends got to witness over 1000 people both employees of the Chiefs and fans lose their lunches. Not one person made a noise when we selected Tyson Jackson. No high fives, no yelling, nothing (silence). After a few secounds 90 percent of the room gets up and walks out the door. Very sad day.
What was your Best and Worst Scott Pioli (Chiefs) Draft memories??????
