Another speculative and somewhat cynical post for your perusal. While I do not try to get to caught up in the endless Bull Excrement that surrounds this CBA issue, I do have a viewpoint that is most certainly different. In the spirit of keeping this fairly brief I will attempt to plant a thought into this process.
First, as the title suggests, this deal is already agreed upon by both sides and we will see a quick resolution in the near future. However, there are two (2) deals which have been agreed. the first is that the courts rule in favor of the players, and there is much pressure to do so as other sports leagues are following NFL players to the courtroom with similar grievances. Secondly, the owners get the ruling, and might - as they have the biggest, deeper pockets which to purchase said court ruling.
If the first happens look for very similar money to be paid to the players like the last deal, a rookie wage scale and a one (1) time use of franchise/restricted FA on any player by his current team. Which basically is a (2) two weeks notice or in the case of the player a (1) one season notice. If the second action comes to fruition for the owners, expect the players to be paid less, a rookie wage scale and FA to remain the same.
So for me the endless crap that we see in the media is nothing but crap entertainment. Since there is no football, we get characters running their mouths to fill air time and keep the masses appeased, but in a negative fashion. Still the negative is football related and is always on your minds. So do not despair, the deal is done and we shall have football soon.
