I know he signed that 6 year contract, but I know that after this season, the salary drops quite a bit. If Cassel shows more improvement this year, I have a hard time believing we're going to pay the guy leading the team less than we did when he was at his worst.
If Cassel DOESN'T improve, he's expendable. Not saying we should get rid of him, just pointing out the fact that he could easily be cut or put on the bench if he doesn't live up to expectations after this season.
