When (or if) the NFL lockout is lifted we'll see some sort of free agency and all those offseason rumors we've been talking about may actually start to mean something.
One of the potential free agents we'll undoubtedly bring up is Arizona Cardinals WR Steve Breaston. He previously worked with Chiefs coach Todd Haley in Arizona so, because of that connection, his name will likely be tied to the Chiefs, if the new labor rules allow him to become a free agent.
Pro Football Talk's Gregg Rosenthal recently talked about Breaston on Twitter.
For Chiefs fans asking: Yep, Breaston would make a lot of sense there. Seems like a guy could intrigue Pats too.
But...didn't the Chiefs pick up WR Jonathan Baldwin in the draft to fix the receiver issue?
Bowe could be in last year. Baldwin a rook. McCluster not every down. Need 1 more. Breaston can be No. 2 or 3.
The Chiefs would be smart to plan for the future because it's possible Bowe is indeed in his last year. It's also possible, as some have suggested, that WR Dexter McCluster could be seeing more time at running back.
If that's the case, then Breaston may be of interest if/when free agency hits.
