The Bills have added a few former Kansas City Chiefs to their team in Buffalo. First it was Chan Gailey as head coach and now it's Chuck Cook, who was the director of college scouting in Kansas City for over 10 years and a regional scout for another 10-plus years before that.
Bills GM Buddy Nix announced that Cook had been hired on as the director of college scouting.
Chuck was in Kansas City and Director for College Scouting for 11 years. He was there during Marty Schottenheimer's years and they were in the playoffs almost every year. I know it was hard to beat them in Kansas City and hard to beat them anywhere, but especially in Kansas City.
He was part of the group of guys that were fired or let go following the Chiefs 2009 draft. Chiefs GM Scott Pioli mentioned that the 2011 draft was really the second one his large group of scouts have been together so he's referencing life after that day in April of 2009 that these folks were let go.
After the Chiefs, Cook went to Miami where he was a regional scout. GM Jeff Ireland used to work in KC, so there's your connection.
