First Arrowhead Pride Fantasy League

With there being a Lockout, and what could potentially be a NFL Shutdown there is not much going in the world of football to point where there has even been some politics talked around here. Some bloggers on here need something to do to past the time. So I thought it would be fun to try to start a fantasy NFL League on here consisting of only players who played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1960-Present. All players will be as good as their skill-set during their time here.

For example, players like Larry Johnson will only be good as the supporting cast you put around him. picks Larry Johnson will be getting the Larry Johnson of 2005-2006 if he has a good offensive line; however with a bad offensive line you are getting the Larry Johnson of 2007-2009. Players like Tony Gonzalez who played at an elite level regardless of who was playing QB will be playing at elite level regardless who you have at QB. Matt Cassel will be play well if he has a good supporting cast around, but will play horribly with a bad supporting cast. Derrick Thomas will get his sacks regardless of who you put in front of him. Tamba Hali will be an efficient 4-3 DE, but a superstar as a 3-4 OLB. Ronnie Lott will be a injury-plagued safety.

Kind of a expanded version of an unique league some other people and I tried a couple of year ago on cbssports.

In the link below is example of what we did, you click on the links to see how we got our owners, a blog of the actual draft and free agency (There was a picture of the draft at one time in the link, but has since been removed after cbssports changed their formatting.), and all 12 games.

How this would work is we would have 32 “front office/teams” with 32 Owners and 0-32 General Managers, 1 League Office that consisted of 1 League Commissioner (Me), 1 Assistant League Manager and 7 Draft Analysts, and 7 NFL Draft Analysts.

Hope we are able to start this Fantasy League, and if there are any questions you have that are not answered below or need something clarified, please leave a comment for me below, and I answer as soon as possible. Have been working on this since midnight last night, so am sure that I have explained everything already, but never know.

How to Become and Duties of Each Position:

League Office

· League Commissioner:

How To Become Commissioner: This position has already been claimed by me.
Job Description: The League Commissioner must create a set of rules to follow before the league can get started, which have already been listed below for everybody. The Commissioner is the head of League Office which contains the Assistant League Commissioner and League Officers. The Commissioner will randomly select the draft order, and runs the Draft on Saturdays, which means he will be responsible for posting an area to perform the draft, and must be informed of all trades by all parties involved on Draft Days 1, 3, 5, and 7 all of which must be approved by the League Commissioner. The Commissioner has the ability to penalize any team that does not make their draft choice on time, penalties will be announced later on. The Commissioner will also be in charge of making sure everybody knows when the 8 Draft Days, Free Agency Periods, and Games are and at what time they start, and end in the case of games when they end. Other abilities of this position include being able to fire anybody within the League Office and relieving owners of their duty if they fail to perform their duties within their job descriptions. The Commissioner can suspend up to 3 players on a team’s roster if the owner and/or general manager violates a rule multiple teams. The Commissioner will be require to perform the duties of the League Officers if there are now, or If the Commissioner takes advantage of his powers or the owners fill like the Commissioner is doing an unsatisfying job, the owners can vote to remove him with 24 votes. If the Commissioner is ousted, the Assistant Commissioner will be promoted.

· Assistant League Commissioner:

How To Become Assistant Commissioner: The position will go to the first person who calls for it in the comment box below.

Job Description: The Assistant Commissioner’s first job will begin after all 32 teams have been claimed, at which time the Assistant Commissioner will pick which team gets which seed in the tournament and e-mail to me at least 1 day before the draft begins (The seeding cannot be made public. A failure to keep the seeding secret will result in me changing it. Failure to e-mail me the tournament seedings 1 hour before Day 1 of the Draft begins will result in me deciding it.). The Assistant Commissioner will run Draft Days 2, 4, 6, and 8 which will be run on Sundays. The Assistant Commissioner must be made aware of all trades by all parties involved on Draft Days 2, 4, 6, and 8, he/she will than make the trade official. The Assistant Commissioner will also get to name 1 of the 16 bowl games in the final round of the Tournament. The Assistant Commissioner will assist the Commissioner in performing the duties of the League Officers if there are none. If the Assistant Commissioner takes advantage of the powers given to him/her, or does an unsatisfying job, the League Commissioner can fire him her, or be voted out by the owners with 24 of the 32 votes. The Assistant Commissioner will be replaced by one of the League Officers, or the job will be performed by the League Commissioner if there are no League Officers left.

· League Officer:

How to Become League Officer: Noone can claim a spot as League Officer until the spots for League Commissioner, Assistant League Commissioner, Owners, and NFL Draft Analysts have already been claimed. After the 41 spots have claimed, the first 7 people to comment down below that they want to be a League Officer will get one of the openings. This position will remain open until the end of the draft.
Job Description: League Officers will run the Free Agency Period, no trade or free agent acquisition is made final without their approval. They will each get to name 1 of the 16 bowl games in the final round. If the Assistant Commissioner is promoted or removed from his/her position, the League Commissioner will select a League Officer to promote to the position. By becoming a League Officer, you are showing interest in wanting to become a Commissioner, so the promotion cannot be turned down. A failure to perform, or taking advantage of the powers within the job description could result in being fired by the League Commissioner or being voted out by the owners with a 24 vote majority.

32 Team’s Front Office

· Owner:

o How To Become Owner: The first 32 people to comment below they want a team, and write down a team name get a spot.
Job Description: The Owner will name his/her team at the same time he/she claims a team. The Owner should also declare rather he/she wants a general manager for the team in order to split the duties listed below with someone, any owner who declares they want a general manager will be the first to get one, just because you say you do not want one though does not mean you going to end up without one. If the team gets a general manager, the duties of the owner can be split up as the owner pleases. The owner’s jobs will mainly be to manage their team drafting players, trading picks and players, signing players, setting e-mailing me your starting lineup and written description as to why you believe your team should win your tournament game. However, outside of managing your team, you will be required to vote on some things which cannot be pushed off onto your general manager. As owner, you are required to vote for which draft system to use which are shown in the rules below, and to vote on rather to oust someone from the League Office if such a vote does come up. A failure to perform your duties could lead to the suspension of 1-3 of your top players determined by the League Commissioner, or the League Office relieving you of your duty as an owner. Remember, you are the owner, making the head of the franchise, so a general manager’s mistake will be your responsibility, and you can be penalized for it. If you feel that your general manager is doing an unsatisfying job, you do have the ability to fire her/him, just make sure you let the League Commissioner and Office know so we know that she/he cannot make anymore picks, trades, or acquisitions for you. (Note: Please read the General Manager section to better understand their roles within the franchise.) Also, be sure to remember that if you fire your general manager, you will not get a new one.

· General Manager:
How To Become General Manager: These positions cannot be filled until the positions of League Commissioner, Assistant League Commissioner, the 32 Owners have been filled, and 7 NFL Draft Analysts. The first 32 people who unsuccessfully try to get a team will be named general manager, or if someone just wants to be general manager they can claim one of the positions below just by commenting.
Job Description: The General Manager will get to vote on which draft system we use, which are listed below in the rules and will be listed again when we actually vote. It is the only vote on league matters the general managers get a vote in. Any other job duty will be decided by the owner of the team you are on. (Note: For a list of duties you may have, please read the job description of the owner.) Be sure to assist the team owner, and do the job duties he gives you. A failure to please your team owner can result in your firing from the team. If your team owner is relieved of his/her duties, you will be promoted to the owner of that team, at which time you can change the team name if you please. If a team owner without a general manager is relieved of his/her duties, the first general manager to claim the team will be resigned to owner of that team, at which time you can change the name of the team if you please.

Other

· NFL Draft Analyst:

How To Become NFL Draft Analyst: The first 7 to say they want to be a NFL Draft Analyst will get one of the positions. The position will be open until 1 hour before Day 1 of the draft starts.
Job Description: There is not much to this job. What makes the NFL Draft Analysis’ job special compare to any other random person not in the League Office or 32 Team Front Offices that may randomly comment on these posts is that the NFL Draft Analysis gets to name 1 of the 16 bowl games in the final round of the tournament. Their most important job though is that they have 1 of the 7 tiebreaking votes in an event of tie in a tournament game.
