I like what we have here....

I realize a lot can happen before September but this draft has me excited and thinking about how the 2011 Chiefs are shaping up.... This is my first post on AP but Im a huge CHIEFS fan and I can not wait for next season...  This wont be anything groundbreaking or greatly insightful but I just want to share my excitement so bare with me...

As it stands right now, I believe the Chiefs have assembled a very balanced team with talent across the boards.. Im not counting on any big free agent signings, ignoring the CBA situation, I think Pioli may get a couple low key signings to provide depth... But this is my current ideal roster to begin the season..(ignoring FA, waivers, ect)

QB1 Cassel QB2 Stanzi

HB1 Charles HB2 Jones HB3 Battle

FB Cox

TE1 Moeaki TE2 Pope

WR Bowe WR2 Baldwin WR McCluster

LT Albert

LG Waters

RE Dorsey/ Gilberry

LE Jackson/ Smith/ Bailey

NT Edwards/ Powe

LOLB Hali/ Sheffield

ROLB Houston/ Studebaker

MLB Johnson/ Williams

MLB Belcher

CB1 Flowers CB2 Carr Nickel Arenas CB4 Brown

SS Berry/ Mcgraw

FS Lewis/ Brown

P Colquitt

KR McCluster

PR Arenas

I love the Baldwin signing because it does the most for our team. This will mostly benefit Cassel and Bowe, allowing another viable threat to be accounted for. He reminds me of Andre Johnson, could be Bowe's replacement. But as of right now... Charles, Bowe, Baldwin, McCluster, and Moeaki are all potetial big play weapons that Cassel has at his disposal... With an expected solid to above average O line, this offense could be nasty..

I also love the Houston signing because our D has now potentialy added the missing element from last year.. Another full time pass rusher to help out Hali.. Just imagine Hali getting freed up, especially how Romeo utilizes and changes formations.. Im giddy at the thought of this D now.. I always thought Edwards was underrated and now Powe can keep him fresh by spelling him.. Dorsey and Jackson I believe will play their roles well and Johnson continuing to thrive, thats multiple weapons on the front 7... The secondary Im really excited about... We all know how good Flowers and Berry are.. Carr is becoming a consistent corner and Lewis looks very promising..

I honestly do not see any blaring weaknesses with this team anymore.. We have leadership at virtually every position with youth throughout.. I know Im bias to the Chiefs but I dont see why we cant win the division again this year.. The foundation is here and Im proud to call myself a Chiefs fan!
