Lots of Solid WR's on the list
I’ll take my chances that Baldwin will end up on the up-side! Haley will deal w/ no nonsense from his player and we’ve seen that plenty in the past. Great little “pet project” for Haley and Co.
Lots of busts on that list
Had we done our homework in earlier drafts (like Mike Wallace or Austin Collie in 09’) we wouldn’t have this discussion. When did Larry Fitzgerald become head of our scouting dept?
Carpe Diem
Austin Collie?
I am not convinced we would know his name if he did not have Manning throwing him the ball. He has a history of making practice suad receivers look pretty good.
The views expressed by craig in calgary do not necessarily represent the views of all Canadians.
Austin collie will not be able too stay healthy for a full season.
Wallace is dope, 09 just didn’t work out for us at all. Hopefully jackson will take the leap to make it look a little better.

What's interesting to me
Is how many fewer busts there have been in the last few years. I wonder why that is…
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
+1
Most of the bust seem to be before 2005. Since then, I only count 6 (Thomas, Hayward-Bey, Ginn, Davis, Gonzalez & Jones) out of 21 real busts & some of those are debatable or the jury’s still out on them…
Is it a bust if your not getting PT due to injury?

Like I said earlier
My busts are debatable — you may disagree. Is there a specific guy you’re asking about?
Yeah, I got ya on the debatable part.
In regards to the injury, just Thomas and Gonzalez. Thomas will be good if he can ever stay healthy. Gonzalez will never be the same due to his injuries, he had potential, oh wait, he had Manning.

Calling D. Thomas a bust
…is probably just wishful thinking on my part, but for a first round draft pick I think its hard to call him a success yet…
He was Baldwin without the work ethic
These guys who are freakishly huge for WR’s (Thomas, Calvin Johnson, Baldwin, etc.) can usually coast through High School and to an extent even college just on their sheer size advantage. Usually their route running isn’t as polished as you’d like to see from an NFL prospect, but teams gamble because if they do improve their weaknesses you have yourself a seriously good WR.
I think that one knock on Thomas was a questionable work ethic. Baldwin does not have that problem.
Ryan Succop will be the kicker for the AFC in the 2011 Pro Bowl
Not sure I'd label Ted Ginn a bust
Did get one of the best return men in the NFL at least

Yeah, was torn on that one
I guess the reason I called him a bust is that this is for WRs, not return guys. So, I was a bit more conservative…
He should be labeled a WR bust no doubt about it
Taking a return guy that high.. well thats a completely different mistake
Cassel out, Andrew Luck in!

and with the rules changes to the kick offs
he will see less opportunities to run back the ball on a kick off

New rules
Aren’t allowed to jam guys after 5 yards, allows guys from college make an easier transition to the NFL.

Very good point
Sometimes I’ve gotten so used to the “pass first NFL” that I forget how recent it is, and why it’s gotten here.
Can you imagine if Marino had gotten a chance to play in this NFL?

'Twould have been ridiculous
He’d be farther ahead of all the other QB’s than Rice is ahead of all the other WR’s…
Ryan Succop will be the kicker for the AFC in the 2011 Pro Bowl
I'm hoping what we get out of Baldwin is simillar to what the Titans did out of Kenny Britt.
Simillar type players and skillsets and I’ll happily take 700 yards his first two years.
