Jared Allen was only a Kansas City Chief for four NFL seasons but he was easily one of the greatest draft picks in franchise history. Allen's place on this list is less about his legacy as a great Kansas City Chief and more about his value as a fourth round pick in the 2004 draft.

Coming out of Idaho State in 2004, Allen was rated the 28th best defensive end by NFL Draft Scout. He was projected as a late round pick and as I mentioned above, Allen was drafted in the fourth round with the 126th pick.

Jared Allen went into the '04 draft weighing 265 pounds and running a 4.72 40-yard dash. Nothing too special.

Allen would go on to play four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. His sack totals would quickly approach All-Pro status. He had 9, 11, 7.5 and 15.5 sacks respectively during his time in Kansas City. Allen also forced a ridiculous 14 fumbles for the Chiefs.

Jared Allen earns his place on this list for value. A fourth round pick that turns out to have Allen's level of production is going to be pointed to as a draft win for Carl Peterson and Dick Vermeil for a long time.
