Different
Different.
Different, I think describes Scott Pioli and his entire scouting and drafting process. He doesn't end up picking those sexy picks or the big names. Aaron Curry? Nope, Tyson Jackson. Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster, Cameron Sheffield...wait who? Different. He works day and night trying to get it right. He knows he has a fanbase behind the Chiefs that he just cannot disappoint. I'm sure he has sleepless nights trying to figure this out and getting it right. What's the point of all this? Well, honestly, I'm not sure, I just wanted to get my thoughts out here and how I think Pioli might do things come Draft Day Weekend.
A couple of quick thoughts.
I believe Scott Pioli will draft a QB in either rounds 2-3 or 6-7. I believe none of the first 3 picks will be a WR, however disappointing. I think the first round pick will upset a big portion of the AP community, but we will all come to realize and rationalize it was a good pick and obviously Pioli knows what he's doing or he wouldn't of drafted said person.
I believe Pioli will get involved in 2 trades during the draft weekend. I think one he will trade back and the other he moves up to get a player he wants.
What I'd like to see done in the draft:
Round 1: I'd like to see an Akeem Ayers, OLB from UCLA here if he is still available
Round 2: If OLB with the first, I'd like to see either a NT here or WR like Hankerson from Miami. Leaning toward the WR since the concerns of Phil Taylor and no great value right here.
Round 3: I'd like to see the NT here if not taken in the 2nd and that NT maybe a guy like Powe if he is still here.
Round 4: I'd like to see a QB taken here to develop behind Cassel and take over eventually after Cassel's time is over.
Round 5-7: I'd like to see some doubling down on positions such as WR and NT as well was an offensive lineman. If we can get a FA NT/WR then grab a C and OT somewhere along the lines.
Do I think any of this will happen? Probably not but I think some of it could possibly.
One thing is for certain; Nothing is for certain. We've spent and continue to spend all offseason examining prospects and figuring out who's best for this team and who we might pick, even though in the end we know or should know Pioli will shock and stun us all. I'm expecting to be shocked and surprised in the very first round. Comment what you guys think what will or might go on in Scott Pioli's genius brain and what he'll do to shock us!
Thanks for reading AP!

Great post
You’re right. Thats why I laugh when people go crazy over a certain guy. When you have Pioli running the show, you just trust the man. He’s shown he knows what he’s doing. Of course he isn’t perfect, but he’s right more often than wrong.
We're the same team as last year, except incredibly better, and with new players.
Thanks
I go around AP supporting a player I think we should take with our first pick but I don’t go crazy thinking we will have him just to be let down. After Arenas/McCluster picks I realized to just trust the man. He’ll get the players we need in here and he’ll get the mix of best and right ones for us.
