Eastern Washington RB Taiwan Jones worked out for NFL teams on Thursday and, according to some of the reports there, he may have guaranteed he'd be an Oakland Raider. That's because he ran a blazing 40-yard dash ranging from 4.27-4.35 (depending on the stopwatch). The Raiders of course like to draft the fastest guy in the draft.
Nonetheless, the Kansas City Chiefs were one of 27 teams to attend the work out. Jones talked with NFL Draft Bible after his work out and said a Chiefs coach asked him to catch some passes after the work out. He's also expected to visit the Chiefs at some point.
Jones previously had an injury that didn't allow him to work out at the Combine. His latest work out is believed to have bumped his draft stock in the third, possibly second round.
I don't know much about him but his size and speed reminds me of Titans RB Chris Johnson. Both went to small schools and both blazed in the pre-draft process.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at One Arrowhead Drive discussing Jones and what they would do with him. This may sound strange but there are only so many weapons you can have offensively -- Charles, RB Thomas Jones and WR/RB Dexter McCluster.
I'm not sure where there's room for someone like Jones unless they saw him playing more of a receiver role.
But not that it matters -- I firmly believe he'll be a Raider after this work out.
