The 2011 Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft continues with craig in calgary choosing for the Denver Broncos at No. 46...
Well friends, with the first two selections, I have single handedly turned the Bronco's defense from a joke, to pretty damn scary with the selection of Da'Quan Bowers and Stephen Paea. With Doomerville coming back from injury they should have a pretty legit front 7 assuming DOOM doesn't get swallowed up with his hand on the ground.
Now it's time to focus on the offense and it just so happens that the highest ranked player on my board is from the offensive side of the ball. The strength of the Bronco's in the past couple of years has been the passing game and they do have some pretty good playmakers on that side of the ball, not to mention Timothy Richard Tebow throwing the Rock; which automatically makes them a threat to score on every play. However they still have no semblance of a running game. At first glance I was going to grab a Running Back here, but I still think the 2nd round is too early to go RB, especially when this year's RB class isn't that great. In my opinion, the drop-off from 1st round to 7th round isn't necessarily that big and every year some diamond in the rough can be had, plus I'm sure they haven't given up on Knowshon. So instead of over thinking it, grab the top ranked guy on my Big board and draft:
TE Kyle Rudolph, Notre Dame
Now this pick is going to cause the Chiefs fits. The 6'6 TE from Notre Dame is one of the best TE prospects in a long time but his draft status has plummeted because of a nagging hammy injury, and now that he is healed up, I honestly don't think he makes it out of the first round. If he is still around at this spot, the Chiefs better get their shit together and figure out how to cover a TE, because if you think a gimpy Todd Heap was hard to cover, check this kid out. He is a human mismatch with a unique combination of size and speed. (Think a whiter, better, Vernon Davis). He's far too fast for a linebacker to cover and too big for a safety to cover. Your only hope to slow him down is for John Fox to name Kyle Orton as their starter.
If this draft goes through like I prognosticated, look out AFC West, because the Bronco's are in it to win it.
