The Kansas City Chiefs have already attended a number of college football pro days this offseason and we've got word that the Kansas City scouts have made another stop: the University of Rhode Island.
Four Rhode Island football seniors worked out for four NFL teams this morning. Matt Hansen, Joe Harris, Dave Valley and Jarrod Williams were on display for the Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.
LB Matt Hansen is not projected to be drafted by NFL Draft Scout. He's 5'11" and weighs 230 pounds.
LB Joseph Harris is another Rhode Island linebacker who is not expected to be drafted. He is about the same size as Hansen - 5'11" and 225 pounds.
OG Dave Valley doesn't have much analysis out there on him. He is projected to go undrafted as well. He was the 2010 team co-captain for Rhode Island.
S Jarrod Williams is another Rhode Island football player who is not projected to be drafted. He is 6'0" and weighs 200 pounds.
I could potentially see the Kansas City Chiefs being interested in all four of these players, considering they're not projected to be picked in the 2011 NFL draft. The two linebackers Hansen and Harris could play special teams, as could Jarrod Williams the safety. If the Chiefs are seriously looking at OG Dave Valley, they might actually be considering him for a backup spot on the roster. Offensive guards don't exactly translate well into special teams.
Any Rhode Island football fans out there?
