NFL, NFLPA Agree To Seven Day Extension In CBA Negotiations

Stay connected for news and updates

More good news for fans of the NFL and the NFL offseason.

The NFL owners and NFL Players Association have agreed to a seven day extension of talks, according to various reports. This will take the talks through next Friday at 4:00 p.m. (Arrowhead time). Mediation is expected to continue on Monday.

I go back to a story posted by Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports on Friday morning where he said if an extension is agreed upon by today we "will almost certainly be headed for a settlement that will result in a multi-year deal before the end of this month."

So next Friday is our new deadline. Let's hope the two sides don't use this extra time finding the best legal maneuver and instead just sit down and work it out.

By the way, if you can't get enough of this lockout talk, tune into NBC Action News in Kansas City at 5:00 p.m. this evening. Word on the street is that they interviewed a handsome (and thin!) local blogger about how the fans are reacting to the potential lockout.
