Courtesy of the National Football Post, we have word that the Kansas City Chiefs have scheduled a private workout with South Carolina safety-cornerback Chris Culliver. As NFP notes, Culliver is generally regarded as a fourth round prospect but his stock has been rising. The Browns, Ravens, Vikings and Texans are reportedly also interested in Culliver.
Culliver's 2010 season ended early because of a pectoral muscle tear but he still ended his South Carolina career with great numbers. He is South Carolina's all-time leader in number of kickoff returns and kickoff yardage, so there is the extra dimension that is likely catching scouts eyes.
NFP has a bit more on Culliver:
A 6-foot, 200-pound cornerback who has also played safety, Culliver ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds at the NFL scouting combine.
He registered a 1.50 10-yard split and a 38 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-03 broad jump. He also posted a 4.08 20-yard shuttle and a 6.08 three-cone drill.
Any Gamecock fans out there know more about Chris Culliver?
