I, like many of you I am sure, am tired of the lockout and the possibility of no football come this fall. I understand that these guys are are trying to share a mighty big pie and do so in a way that is fair to both players and owners, but they are forgetting who this is really going to upset. The fans are the ones who should be most irate about this. Essentially, these billions of dollars are coming from us. Tickets, merchandise, and yes even the television deals, are all because of us fans. We are the ones lining these owners with billions, who then pass millions off to coaches, personel, and players.
So what can we do to show the NFL that us as fans won't stand for taking something away from us that we have put a lot of our hard earned money into?We boycott them! That's right. Us as fans need to stick together and start a petition and stand by our word. Get a list going stating that for every month it takes them to reach a new CBA we the fans will not fill their stadium. Therefor, if a deal is reached by April 1st all is well. Before May 1st, week one of the NFL season will be blacked out by the fans. Stadiums empty, television on baseball or nascar, absolutely no NFL. If for any reason there is any regular season game missed we as fans should boycott the entire season.
Will any of this every happen by the fans, probably not, but I am willing to be the first name on that list and stand by my word. I refuse to stand behind someone who is willing to take something away from me that I deeply enjoy when it is our money that pays their bills.
Anyone else have any options on what we as fans can do?
