Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley was awarded coach of the year at the 101 Awards last month but missed out on the Associated Press NFL coach of the year given out this week. The awards for Haley aren't over, though.

Haley was awarded the NFL Alumni coach of the year. He was up for the award along with Chicago Bears' Lovie Smith and Atlanta Falcons' Mike Smith

I'm really glad that Haley is getting recognized across the league for his efforts. The other two candidates had better seasons than the Chiefs but I think they had more pieces to begin with.

As we've said, it'll be even harder for Haley to win this award again because they're no longer the surprising Chiefs. Folks are going to expect the Chiefs to be better so if he wins this one again, it'll be because the Chiefs were truly one of the best teams.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew took home the NFL Alumni running back of the year over Jamaal Charles.
