Champ Bailey Agrees To Four-Year Contract With Denver Broncos
It's not the best news for the Kansas City Chiefs but the Denver Broncos locked up CB Champ Bailey this afternoon. Bailey had just completed the final year of a seven-year contract he signed and there were reports that suggested he may not return to Denver.
Rest assured, John Elway tweets, the deal is done.
We are thrilled to announce that the Broncos have agreed to terms on a new four-year contract with cornerback Champ Bailey.

4 years is a long time for a 33 year old DB
But he’s still pretty damn good.

Not sure why I commented that
I pretty much just recapped the post.
Oh well, in 90 seconds, the post will be filled with unrelated pictures and youtube links for some reason.

Ouch
Newbie roast much?
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
More like a "any and everything" roast
It's one thing to see something wrong and have good ideas how to fix it, it's another to complain about everything because nothing is ever good enough. Look in the mirror, which one are you?

No kidding.
I don’t comment much (prefering to just read). But lately that’s been all over the place in way that makes the site much less enjoyable. I miss the substance over internet meme-y content the comments have been moving torwards.
Yeah I'd be surprised to see him play it all the way through
Depending on what the numbers are.

The sports talk radio guys in Denver seem to think he'll move to FS like Rod Woodson did towards the end of his career
1-2 more years at CB then FS. No big deal if his play declines sharply with non-guaranteed contracts anyway. I don’t know if this means the Broncos won’t draft Peterson #2 or that they will so he’ll have a mentor in Bailey before moving him to FS
Yeah it
says that only a small portion of next year is guaranteed. So they could get out from under it after next year, free and clear.

He shut him down.

I'm sure the contract will be loaded towards the back end
Then the Broncos can release him next year or the year after and avoid a major chunk of it.
Cassel out, Andrew Luck in!
I just don't think they wanted to let him walk now and lose even more fans

Unless he's willing to switch to S (and he may)
He won’t last the contract. We saw the floor fall out for Law and Surtain, and it’s about to happen with Bailey. He’s still very good, but he’s already fallen off a little from years past.
It’s coming like a freight train either this year or next, mark my words.
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
Seems like someone said...
That he’s willing to follow Woodson’s path (not just talking about the speculation above), so I think that’s a very good possibility. If so, he could definitely last four years and beyond.
YAAAAAY! Now you go, lady!
Interesting
I hope for his sake that he knows when to say when at CB, and doesn’t let pride get in the way.

Other than he's a Bronco, I agree.
But since he’s a Bronco, all part of me wants him to be very selfish.
YAAAAAY! Now you go, lady!
He is a HOF corner
That is going to be tough for him to swallow a move off that position. I would be shocked if he did it within the timeframe of this contract.

Elway is the polar opposite of pioli when it comes to news
Pioli likes to keep things under wraps for as long as he can, and Elway is on twitter letting everyone know their business as fast as he can.
#58 will always be king!
Hell, he posted videos of their coaching interviews!
It’s fun when other teams do it, but I kind of like the Chiefs’ Cone of Silence, if for no other reason than it shows a great discipline from the entire organization.

or shows a great paranoia

Elway was seen as the Savior
He needs to keep in the public eye, so they think he’s actually doing something.
Ok, let's settle the NFL labor dispute with Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith in a one on one Oklahoma drill. First one to get a concussion loses.
This is AWESOME
Denver just gave over $10mil/yr (Ty Law or Patrick Surtain anyone) to an aging player who is showing small signs of slowing down AND
Now this sets the bar for Nnamdi. There is no way Oakland can sign him now. He is going to want 5 years at $60mil… At least!
He'll play 2 years of that contract.
At most. He’ll either be cut or retire before. He’s losing steps, and fast. This was a bad move, they should have just parted ways and drafted CB at #2 overall.
....

Dream Mock Draft:
1. Aldon Smith OLB Missouri
2. Phil Taylor NT Baylor
3. Tim Barnes C Missouri
4. Vincent Brown WR SD State
5A. Ricky Stanzi QB Iowa
5B. Mario Harvey ILB Marshall
7. Hank Hynoski FB Pittsburgh
Champ is one of only 9 players to run a sub 4.3 40 at the combine
Electronically timed, that is. I never knew he was that freakish.
I read an article on Yahoo! Pretty good read if you’re interested. I also believe the Raiders drafter half of these players.

Not saying Bailey isn’t a great player but Elway is about to experience the Ty Law effect.
