It's not the best news for the Kansas City Chiefs but the Denver Broncos locked up CB Champ Bailey this afternoon. Bailey had just completed the final year of a seven-year contract he signed and there were reports that suggested he may not return to Denver

Rest assured, John Elway tweets, the deal is done.

We are thrilled to announce that the Broncos have agreed to terms on a new four-year contract with cornerback Champ Bailey.

Bailey's 32 years old and will be 33 by the time the 2011 season starts but he's still one of the better corners in the NFL. At his age I imagine he's on his way down but I'd still rather face a team without Champ Bailey.

That said, I don't think Champ makes the difference between a championship Broncos team and a 4-12 team, as the 2010 season showed us.
