Facing Oblivion

Langoliers03_mediumSeems that the 2011 Schedule is daunting to say the least:

Home opponents:
San Diego Chargers
Oakland Raiders
Denver Broncos
Buffalo Bills
Green Bay Packers
Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings
Pittsburgh Steelers

Road opponents:
San Diego Chargers
Oakland Raiders
Denver Broncos
Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions
New England Patriots
New York Jets
Indianapolis Colts

Maybe it also seems that we have so many roster holes at:

Center
Nose Tackle
SOLB
SILB
Offensive Tackle
Wide Receiver
Depth in almost every position
not to mention QB coach and Offensive Coordinator have changed.

The new CBA will effect Free agency and whether we can sign additional players outside of the 2011 draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs have as good a Cadre of returning players as most any team in the AFC if not the NFL. The Chiefs players have got a year of experience where other teams have got a year older. Will the Chiefs have a better record or finish in 2011? Most would say no to that question. But, most pegged us for 6 wins in 2010 too. I have no doubt that Scott Pioli and Todd Haley have a scheme for when the 2011 season unfolds. Maybe a better plan than some of the rebuilding franchises on our schedule. The good part is we are stable right now entering our third year.
Not so the Raiders, Broncos, and Vikings. The Chiefs are approaching their prime. Not so the Colts, Steelers, and Chargers. The Chiefs were 7-2 in Arrowhead in 2010. We can beat the Bills and Dolphins on our home turf, not to mention others.

All is not lost and we have not seen the product the Chiefs will field in 2011 yet.

Go Chiefs
