After a week of rather disappointing award results, the Kansas City Chiefs finally have gotten some recognition. Running back Jamaal Charles has won the FedEx Ground Player of the Year award. The award is essentially given to the best running back in the NFL.
In 2010, Jamaal Charles was the best running back in the NFL.
Charles' 6.38 yards per carry was good for second all-time. He rushed for 1,467 yards on 230 carries. He also had five rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns.
The other candidates for the Ground Player of the Year award were Houston Texans RB Arian Foster and Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner. Foster had more yards and Turner had more touchdowns. But Charles' 6.38 yards per carry average was just nasty.
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers took home the Air Player of the Year award over Tom Brady and Philip Rivers.
The Chiefs finally won an award. Feels nice, doesn't it?
