Hello everyone!
Posterized enjoyed it's first appearance in print form last Friday at the TrippleWide, here in KC, and I'd have to say it was a great success. Big thanks to everyone that made it out!
I had a lot of fun with this painting. I like the calm before the storm feel that it gives, and is a fun, subtle way to sneak the playoff appearance into the series.
Thanks for the support this season guys. I couldn't have done it without you!

Great season
Can we get some details of the event last Friday? I was out of town and unable to make it. I’d love to hear some of your thoughts.
oh yeah, didn't i hear you had some tiny flag football game or something to attend? :P
I do actually have a bunch of thoughts about the show. Should i post here or make a fanpost?

+1
The 2010 Kansas City Chiefs draft class will go down in history as one of the single greatest draft classes in the history of the league.

Great! It's going on my Galaxy S right now, thanks!
Predictions:
This year IS be better.
oh, and...
Todd Haley doesn't give a damn about your fantasy team.
I would pay money... (seriously)
If they didn’t have the words “posterized” on them next year. Website? Of couse. Name? Chris DESERVES tons of credit.
But “posterized” just seems so silly…its like taking this awesome piece of work and putting the ramblings of a middle school boy on it.

hey man, it's all good and i can certainly understand that.
it started out as a joke (sort of) with a friend of mine who went to journalism school at MU, taking the negative connotation in sports and flipping it on it’s head.
to be honest it’s very much turned into a brand for me and i’d be stupid to abandon it. i get tons of hits from people searching for the series name, or trying to figure out how to “posterized a picture”
i know it’s not for everyone, and to be honest if i continue it it will be more subtle. but it’s definitely done it’s job for this season :)
thanks for the input i love the constructive criticism!

i didn't originally know that it would be an entire series, or that there would be THIS much interest in it

I don't mind the tag.
But I think it could be a little more subtle. I think it distracts from your art.
YAAAAAY! Now you go, lady!
definitely valid
i’ve had a number of people tell me though that they caught the text over the shoulder of a coworker or something like that and probably wouldnt have been able to see it otherwise. so for this season i can’t exactly say it wasn’t a “success”

Fair enough.
BTW, I just tweeted this to the five Chiefs in the drawing that I know have Twitter accounts. Hopefully, they’ll like it and not threaten to sue. ;)

Hey I love these pieces!
And I like the ‘POSTERIZED’ tag. Gotta establish the brand. It let’s people know what they’re looking at.
I could see wanting to go more subtle with it, maybe on a border so it’s not over tye picture or perhaps hidden in the scenery somewhere? Like on the jumbotron, etc.
Again, love the work! I would definitely buy a couple of these for my walls if you sold em.

I would be shocked if you had posted these w\o the text
And they wouldn’t have been as popular. Simply shocked. Having said that I voiced my opinion and appreciate all of your hard work. Thanks for listening!

oh i didnt mean they wouldnt have been as popular
but i’ve also been able to cultivate a brand out of this that didnt exist at the start of the season. tons of people would know what you were talking about just by the word “Posterized”. maybe not so much if you said “those cool chiefs paintings”.
moving forward, i agree, it doesn’t need to be as prominant, if existant at all.

Looks great, Chris!
I especially enjoy the little recognition for Brandon Carr.
