Belcher is KC's Thumper
Discusses why Belcher has been integral to DJ's success. The two seem to feed off each other. Worth a read.

good read
this is why I think KC won’t upgrade Belcher’s position… at least not with a high draft pick, or big name FA.
I think they’ll bring Siler back, and the rest of the LB corps stays largely the same, hopefully adding Miller into the mix
Agree
You know what, I’m okay with it too. I think Belcher will continue to get better. I also think that he & DJ are comfortable with each.
yeah, I think it's clear they are working well together
not that you couldn’t get a better SILB… but I just think they’ll look elsewhere in the draft
So we could be set at
CB, if Carr gets re-signed: Flowers/Carr
S: Berry/Lewis
OLB: Hali/Houston
ILB: DJ/Belcher
NT: Gordon/Powe/Veteran NT – Gordon would slide over to DE
DE: Bailey/Dorsey/Jackson/Gilberry – if Dorsey gets traded.
IMHO
they are pretty much set at:
CB, OLB, ILB, DL, WR, FB, K, P, LS
needs:
- QB (of course)
- S depth
- RT
- LG/C, (at least depth, but ideally a Lilja replacement)
- TE
maybe RB and DE/NT
I still think an ILB isn't out of the question
Not necessarily a high pick or high priced FA, but some new depth. I personally don’t expect Siler to make it, if he’s even re-signed and there’s always the chance they decide it’s time for Demorrio to move on as well.
That leaves DJ, Belcher and Greenwood unless someone gets shifted inside, like say Studebaker. While I wouldn’t be opposed to a Belcher upgrade, I agree it’s far down the list of priorities. I think he’s shown enough improvement each year to warrant more time, barring a player you just can’t pass on.
Mostly agree with the order of team needs. I’d flip RT and safety depth though. RT is an obvious need at a starting position. Safety depth is ok, if not spectacular. At the very least, Daniels can fill in back there some if needed, especially if Jalil Brown can develop into a solid third or fourth corner.
I won’t be too surprised if Hudson ends up being Lilja’s replacement (he’s playing well there, why mess with what’s working?), so we’d still need to find a new center. I like Darryl Harris, when he’s healthy, but he’s yet to stick on the 53 so it’s likely not wise to expect much there.
harris isnt good at Center, at all
He’s depth at best
I do think RT is the #1 need… that list wasn’t really in order.
As long as Sabby is gone next year, replaced with an NFL calber S, I am fine with the whole secondary

Ah, ok
I imagine Harris is probably on his last go round this coming season. Either he steps up or they move on. Fine by me. I wouldn’t mind a mid-round guard for depth or even a shot at starting if Hudson slides to center.
Agreed on Sabby. It would be nice if Washington would step up, or even Langford, but who knows how that shakes out. At least Daniels gives them some flexibility there.
However
if Hightower is available for the Chiefs in the second round, do they take him? I would have to think they would have to.
