Give Orton a good look.
I've followed Kyle Orton's career beginning with his first pass as a Purdue freshman, through his stints with the Bears and Broncos. I've seen him beat Payton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady (in that order), as well as amass huge passing stats with a miserable 2010 Broncos team that couldn't run, play defense, or protect the QB. He has a terrific, accurate arm but a colorless personality that made him the perfect victim of Tebowmania, where one bad game brought out the worst in Broncos fans. If the Chiefs O line can protect him, he can solve KC's QB needs into the future.

Someone is trade bait: Cassel or Orton
The question will be who will have greater value???
Clark Hunt & Pioli, get some KING KONG BALLS and move up to draft a QB in the 1st RD of the 2012 NFL Draft: RG3, Luck, Jones, or Barkley.

Orton's contract is up at the end of this season.
We can’t trade him. He’s an unrestricted free agent.

I believe that ChiefsatWar was saying that if we sign him...
as ExRoyalsFan suggested that one of the 2 would be trade bait… Signing someone just to trade them doesn’t make much sense to me.
I guess we shall see as how the exciting the offseasons tend to be…
Go Chiefs!!!!
Signing Orton then trading him when he just agreed to stay
Unless he agreed to a sign-and-trade deal (and why would he?) is a great way to never land another free agent again.

why would a guy sign if he knows he's going to be traded

Trade Cassel!!!
Huzzah! Fantasy football has returned, allowing me to slap my opponents (family members) across the face with my favorite pair of white satin gloves. En garde, monkeys!
I know, huh!
been saying that for months but, sadly, there are no takers … you’d think the Chargers or Colts could use a fan or two, but noooooooooooo-ooooooooooooo … looks like we’re stuck with the guy

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Do we blame our FM (fan manager) Joel Thorman for this terrible personnel move?

I hope!
I think if Orton could throw for 250 and a couple TD’s a game, we would win a hell of a bunch of games. This Defense is legit! It is a shame to see such a a good Defense go to waste because of non-existant QB play. Cassell is done in KC as far as I’m concerned. I hope Orton gets a chance to show what he can do this year. I would love to get a guy like RG3 in the draft. RG3 is legit!
Hopefully Orton recovers from his injury -
In time for us to get a good look at him..
Regardless, I don’t see both him and Cassel on the roster come training camp.

I am all for Orton being th starter next year, if it means Cassel is a high draft pick sitting behind him.

Question
I’ve been curious about Orton and one question never seems to fully have the light shed. You mention a colorless personality, is Orton a very vocal leader on or off the field? What has it been about his personality that’s maybe…rubbed people the wrong way. I realize Tebowmania eclipsed Orton, but before that occured, how is he as a vocal leader on a team? And does he rally the guys on offense?
He has the stats and the play time to show he’s got great potential but that’s just always something I’ve wondered about him. If you have any insight to that I’d appreciate it. I hope Orton heals up and we see him find his stride in KC and will stick around.
I dunno -
I’ve seen Orton get pretty fired up on the sidelines in a very colorful way, if you get my drift..
I just think its hard for anyone to win a popularity contest against Tebow; hopefully our gain!

Ha
I’m not even sure Jesus himself could win in a popularity contest with Tebow. The mania over that dude is in-freaking-sane.
Yes hopefully our gain and his finger/hand heals up real soon.
Tebow's Character has been stroked more than Ron Jeremy's ___________!
I am so over this crap! I hope the Bears can show up pissed off and gut check the Denvorites, the Patriots can blow out the ponies, the Raiders run all over Tebow’s defense, and then the Chiefs show up on January 1st and piss all over the playoff party in Denver. The Broncos suck!!!!!!!

damn, War ... a little hate for the Broncos, eh?
hate to tellya this, but the Broncos are ahead of the Chiefs and have been playing MUCH better than our team for two months …
seems to this observer that Tebow’s the “real deal” in terms of character and leadership … hell, the Chiefs could use some of whatever he’s got going on

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Ice cream kicks ass, though.
It’s not even a fair comparison. I mean…it’s ice cream.

Denver may look like the class of AFC West this year...
but next year can be a completely different story. If JC and Berry comes back healthy, Chiefs are going to absolutely demolish their division. We also need to resign bowe and carr and Siler and Moeaki also need to be healthy enough to contribute. A lot of IFS, but i believe siler,DJ, Hali, and Houston can be the best LB corp in the NFL. Berry also is going to greatly help our Run D. Not to mention, Oakland is going to be very behind after the draft. Hopefully we can also go with Stanzi, Orton, or a drated QB.
wow, all that w/o a QB? nice!

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
I'm gonna puke.
Denver may look like the class of AFC West this year…
So it’s come to that. The rest of the league, including the NFC West, is laughing at us.
Ladies and Gentlemen, here are YOUR STANZI CITY CHIEFS!!
