Hopefully Y'all got the Wizard of Oz reference with the main title....
Before each game another APer puts out a Chiefs connection to the upcoming opponent. I enjoy it a lot, makes you think how small the NFL is and how closely knitted it is. After watching yesterday’s W I decided to put together this thread on the QB situation.
How are they connected? Follow me after the Jump
There is a distinctive trend that is going on this season in the NFL; Quarterbacks & Injuries. We have heard time and time again that this is a QB driven league and this is the year of the QB – to include the upcoming draft.

With the way Hiene has played over the last few games they (Chicago) may have to give this kid a shot under center or go the McNabb route – which Coach Lovie Smith has denied. I wonder if they are screaming for Enderle over there on their blog….
He comes from Idaho and I am not savvy enough to know if any NFL starting QB’s came from the potato state college program.

T.J. Played this Saturday as the starting QB due to the loss of Schaub and Leinhart. He went 12 for 25 with 188 yards and a TD. His longest was a 50 yard pass and he had a 48% CMP with a QB rating of 86.8. He came from the University of N. Carolina, not exactly the home of future starting QB’s in the NFL. YET the Texans had drafted him and due to injury and their 1st post season appearance on the line in franchise history; they decided to go with him.
Now we have our beloved Chiefs
They Draft Ricky Stanzi

The Articles I goggled speak for themselves. Now I am admittedly a Stanzi Homer. I want this kid to play. I think he deserves a shot and in doing so would let us gauge where we are in the quest for the QB in this QB driven league. Do we need RGIII if we can get him? Do we trade down and draft an OT? These are questions we will discuss over and over again after the last game the Chiefs play this season.
I am simply presenting the scenario, the Bears are in the hunt, the Texans are still play off bound if they hold it together and we are technically in the hunt but are more like whiffing at the scent of Post Season Tailgating BBQ. We are all three connected by 5th round draft picks and hurt Quarter backs. So the proposed question is not should we play Ricky Stanzi as opposed to Tyler Palko; The Question is:
Why wouldn’t we play our 5th round moderately regarded Quarterback Ricky Stanzi?
I’ll take your thoughts/ trite remarks/insults and insightful ideas and /or rebuttals below and let’s keep it clean gentleman ( and Lady Chief whom of which has been MIA) after all we aren’t the Raiders fans we have Class
