A Chief's fan at a Ram's game

First off, I would like to preface this post by saying it has been a few years since I have been to Arrowhead for a game, but my experience living here is St. Louis has made me miss it so much more. I was given free tickets a couple weeks ago for the St. Louis vs Arizona game, and who turns down free tickets. My experience was lackluster. I can now officially say, without a doubt, that Arrowhead Stadium and Chiefs Nation are the best in the state.

When heading to the Edward Jones dome, I was expecting loud. Here we have an indoor stadium that has to keep the sound in. I know the Rams haven't been doing well but what i saw I didn't really expect.

1. This picture is post kickoff, about two to three minutes into the game. And no, those aren't seat waiting to be filled by tailgaters that are late getting in. Few people tailgate in St. Louis. The dome is in the middle of downtown and there really just isn't a place for it. Most of those seats stayed empty the entire game.

2. My experience at Arrowhead involved standing for a several minutes at a time cheering on our Chiefs defense, making it miserable for opposing offenses. I remember having to almost yell just to talk to my buddy that was standing next to me so he could hear. Here, my wife and I could of carried on an in depth conversation in whispers and would of had no trouble. The fans are not excited. Sure when a big play happens, you would here an eruption, but nothing like arrowhead. The fans are not invested in their team.

3. Butts were in the seats, literally. Being the football fan I am, I cheered on the rams wholeheartedly. I have lived St. Louis for two years now. I take what I can get. But I often found myself the loudest one cheering, and one of few on my feet. Even in key situations, fans may have yelled but it was in there seat. Its as if they were saying, your not important enough for us to stand. Get off your butt and support your team.

I could go on and on. But in short, St. Louis is not Kansas City. The Edward Jones Dome is not Arrowhead Stadium. St. Louis should take note of their cross state friend foe. This is how its done.

And I definitely need a good dose of Arrowhead to clear that from my mind.

Go Chiefs!!
