Chiefs-Broncos Connections Include Kyle Orton And Casey Wiegmann
The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will meet this weekend and one of the biggest differences in this connections versus the one from the first meeting between these two teams is of course QB Kyle Orton, who comes from Denver to KC.
Others include Casey Wiegmann, who spent time in both Denver and KC, Joel Collier, whose father worked with Denver for 20 years and then the Colquitt brothers.
Check out all these connections and more (courtesy of the Chiefs' game release):
- Kansas City GM Scott Pioli and Denver director of pro personnel Keith Kidd, national scout Adam Peters and DT Ty Warren worked together with the New England Patriots.
- Chiefs assistant GM Joel Collier is the son of Joe Collier, who served 20 seasons as an assistant coach with Denver (69-88). The younger Collier played collegiately at Northern Colorado.
- Kansas City QB Kyle Orton played with Denver (09-11).
- Kansas City P Dustin Colquitt is the brother of Denver P Britton Colquitt.
- Kansas City DL Amon Gordon spent time in Denver (07).
- Kansas City assistant strength and conditioning coach Brent Salazar worked with the Broncos (05) and is a Denver native.
- Chiefs C Casey Wiegmann (08-09) played in Denver.
- Denver head coach John Fox was an assistant coach at Kansas (83).
- Chiefs CB Jalil Brown played at Colorado (06-10).
- Broncos CB Chris Harris played at Kansas (07-10).
- Broncos DT Jamal Williams played at Kemper Military School in Boonville, Mo.
- Chiefs LBs coach Gary Gibbs and defensive assistant/assistant LBs coach Adam Zimmer were on the same coaching staff as Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen with New Orleans.

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Reasons WHY Kansas City Will Beat Denver, AND How Denver Will Still Make The Playoffs...
Here is how I see it…The Kansas City Chiefs will beat Denver based on motivation and anger…
1) Kansas City Chiefs have a stronger defense, and will be better prepared to break the Tebowner. There is more film on how to beat this offense. Liability: R. Langford; Shitty Piscetelli, & Donald Washedup. If Jon McGraw can go…We will have better coverage.
2) Romeo Crennel knows this is his last chance to make a case to be the Chiefs H.C., and the players know it as well. This is a ‘prove it’ game.
3) The Green Bay hangover is gone and the Oakland Raidtards have us pissed off, and the Chiefs want to end the season on a positive note.
4) The Kyle Orton Factor…Wait, what?!?!?! Yeah, the Kyle Orton Factor. Ol’ neck beard wants to piss all over Tebow’s playoff dreams. The Denver fans never appreciated Kyle, and this is a statement game for him. He knows their defense and he will be ready to exploit their injuries and weaknesses. This could be his last time to leave a bad taste in the mouths of all Broncos fans.
5) We have nothing to lose….Similar to the Green Bay game. So why not just show up have fun and play your hearts out!!!!
6) The Broncos are banged up on offense and on defense.
The Broncos will still make the playoffs…WHAT?!?!?!?!? The way I see it…The Broncos will lose in convincing fashion to the our Chiefs, but the Raidtards will be beaten by Nick Novak and the San Diego Chargers which will undo everything we did and allow Tebowner into the playoffs. And they will be distroyed in the first round, similar to us last year…
O’Well…Here is to 2012 be a better year and starting off with a win in Denver on day 1.

Should have done this last week at home.
Welcome to the real world, Alexandria. Future Chiefs' ____________!

for saying Hudson should play instead of Wiegmann

Still saying you are lol
It’s a classless move to bench a veteran in a game that’s essentially meaningless for the Chiefs. Benching him earlier in the season when we were still in the hunt made sense IMO, but in the last game once we’re already eliminated from the playoffs?
Just let the guy retire as a starter. He gave us a lot of good years.
Todd Haley lost 7 of his last 15 games by 20 or more points. It was time for him to go.

Agreed
Yes, his best years are behind him. ..and it’s time to move on. And I’ll even concede that it might even be past the time to move on. But, Casey has played his heart out for this team for a long time. The fact that this seems to mean nothing to some fans kinda’ pisses me off. I, for one, thank the man for the blood, sweat, and tears he given for the Chiefs.
Besides, Hudson spending a season watching and learning from a skilled veteran like Casey might just pay off big for years to come. I hope he’s been paying attention.
My earliest Chiefs memories are watching guys named Dawson, Podolak, Taylor, Thomas, Bell, and Buchanan. So, yeah...I'm kind of an old fart.
And me, @ChiefsatWar
Live in Denver…Hate the Tebowners, but LOVE ME SOME CHIEFS FOOTBALL!!!!
All my in-laws are Donkey fans…YUCK!!!!

Shannon Sharpe is head and shoulders ahead of Elway in the most despised Bronco list.
I live in Denver too. The thing is, I like a lot of the Bronco players (past and present), but collectively I can’t stand them. Hopefully I don’t get spit on in my Chiefs garb at the game.
My brother played college ball with Atwater back in the day, so he was always one of my favorites.
Anyone coming to the Mile High City for this game???
N-Lot (parking) is where most Chiefs fans gather before the game

Wish I could.
Be safe up there. I can’t imagine those fans being welcoming (especially if they lose out on the playoffs).

Remember a few years back
one of the fans shot and killed Darrent Williams after they lost to the 49ers and didn’t make the playoffs

That was a fan that did that? Holy shit!

It wasnt a fan
It was a gang banger that had a run in with Williams and Brandon Marshall as well as a guy named Brandon Flowers.

Here is how I see it.
A close game coming down to the end.
0:36 left to play in the 4th quarter.
Den 24 – 20 KC
KC – 3rd and 15 at your own 35.
Kyle Orton 40 yard pass to Baldwin. KC fans rejoice..
KC – 1st and 10 at Den 10.
1st down – KO pass incomplete.
2nd down – KO pass incomplete.
3rd down – KO intercepted pass.
He’ll get you there…. and then he’ll break your heart.
